Vrátná, Jana ; Vacek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Remeš, Prokop (referee)
The main subject of my bachelor thesis is spiritual experience after drug intoxication, that implies altered state of consciousness when using psychedelic drugs, experience which is far beyond human understanding where spirituality is perceived as a deciding power of human personality and behavior. Concretely, I focus on the spiritual experience of the users- experimenters in relation to drug use. This thesis intends to achieve and to describe the spiritual experience after drug intoxication comparing different characteristics, mainly related to motivation for consumption, profile, career and actual psychopathology of the user-experimenter. The theoretical part deals with the history of use of psychotropic substances, psychonautics, psychoactive substances and intoxication experience; I also mention there the epidemiology, as well as the spiritual aspect of the drug use, therapy and motivation to use psychoactive substances. In the practical part I use qualitative approach and its design has a character of a multipath case study. The research project was realized with the participation of four respondents who were chosen by the method of deliberate choise. The chosen method for data collecting was a semi-structured interview when all the collected data were analysed by the method of interpretative...

Herešová, Alice ; Vacek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Remeš, Prokop (referee)
The aim of this study is to analyze gender differences in perception of hagiotherapy in therapeutic process of men and women addiction treatment in the Psychiatric hospital Bohnice. The first part of the thesis is intended to be a theoretical framework for the following practical survey and this part deals with the terms of gender, gender differences in addiction, gender specific addiction and recovery treatment and describes the existential psychotherapy, the group psychotherapy and hagiography as a special form of group existential psychotherapy. The second part of the thesis deals with the research, which contains utterances of 16 respondents who took part in the hagiotherapy in the Psychiatric hospital Bohnice. A method of semi- structured interview was used and the utterances were analyzed in detail in order to reveal gender differences. The method of the open and axial coding were used, particular categories were described and compared. The research part of the thesis confirms that there truly are major gender differences between men and women in treatment, but not in the perception of the hagiotherapy, but in the way they process singular impulses and in the way they are affected by the hagiotherapy. Gender plays a major role in several aspects and the most significant differences can be...
Attitudes of therapists from selected inpatient care facilities to spiritual topics and techniques in the treatment of addiction
Zemina, Jiří ; Vacek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Remeš, Prokop (referee)
Spirituality is an interesting phenomenon that is hard to describe, therefore, any person may have different understanding or meaning of it. In addictology, a bio-psycho-socio-spiritual model is used, in which you can talk about the first three dimensions but the fourth is "sometimes" omitted. Many authors urge the need to involve spiritual dimension in addiction treatment, for example by inducing altered states of consciousness. Most often in addictological practice, you encounter spirituality in the therapeutic community in form of many rituals. The aim of this paper is to describe how addictologists approach spirituality from a personal and professional point of view, their experience with specific topics and clients, and finally how they perceive different spiritual techniques and tools in addiction treatment. The theoretical part deals with the definition of spirituality, altered states of consciousness and psychospiritual crisis. In the second half of the theoretical part, spirituality and its place in addictology is dealt with together with a short chapter focusing on psychadelics and their use in addictology. The practical part presents qualitative research where a semi-structured interview was used. The interview was further analyzed and coding methods were used. Then codes were...
Hagiotherapy and its benefits from the point of view of women who underwent alcohol addiction treatment in the Psychiatric Hospital Bohnice and are now abstaining
Miklasová, Iveta ; Remeš, Prokop (advisor) ; Vacek, Jaroslav (referee)
The topic of my bachelor thesis is Hagiotherapy and its benefits regarded by women who underwent institutional alcohol addiction treatment in Psychiatric hospital Bohnice and who abstain now. Hagiotherapy is a psychotherapeutic method, its name comes from Greek "therapeia" - care, treatment and "hagios" - saint, pure, holy. Hagiotherapy is a form of bibliotherapy which uses Holy Scripture as a mirror. Unlike the speech-based therapy ordinarily used among psychological means it carries a strong expressive context consisting in parallels from chosen biblical stories and the therapy is also based on the therapist himself who uses those stories and appropriate situational rituals. The aim of my thesis is to find the possible benefits of hagiotherapy for alcohol addicted women during their institutional treatment and our aim is to determine whether the women consider the method beneficial and effective in relation to their life in abstinence. In the theoretical part we first clarify some basic terms connected with addiction and its treatment. Then we treat therapeutic methods in alcohol addiction treatment, including hagiotherapy, which makes part of the process of treating alcohol addicted women in Psychiatric hospital Bohnice for a quarter century. The practical part describes the research process....
