Diesel railroad vehicles drive concepts
Polcer, Pavel ; Knotek, Jiří (referee) ; Zubík, Martin (advisor)
Thesis deals with diesel railroad vehicle drive concepts, in other words transmission of power from diesel engine to driven wheels. Currently used drives are described in terms of functionality, limitations and efficiency. Numerical model, which simulates rail vehicle journey, is used to compare efficiency of drives, or more accurately, energy needs for their operation. Based on the numerical model, suitable drives are recommended.

Diesel railroad vehicles drive concepts
Polcer, Pavel ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Zubík, Martin (advisor)
This thesis contains summary and evaluation of current diesel railroad vehicle drives. Each drive is first described and then its efficiency and reliability is evaluated. As a part of efficiency evaluation is shown where energy losses occur. Secondly, critical components which limit reliability of the drive are identified.
