Inspection authorities of nuclear safety in the world and their purpose
Dvořák, Aleš ; Nerud, Pavel (referee) ; Šen, Hugo (advisor)
This thesis deals with issues of nuclear safety. The first section provides an overview of international organizations and associations, which control via their activities all regulations concerning nuclear safety, the technical state of equipments and systems in nuclear power plants. The second part deals with technical description of important equipment and systems of the nuclear powerplants at chosen nuclear reactors of II. and III. generation. The last part explains the conception of nuclear safety deeply. The reader can gain a deep overview of the different levels of protection and attention is also paid to the methods that contribute to the evaluation of nuclear safety.
Ways of radioactive materials saving in the Czech Republic and in the world
Polák, Luboš ; Šen, Hugo (referee) ; Nerud, Pavel (advisor)
Management of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste are many. The aim of this thesis was to summarize the attitude of the Czech Republic and the other major countries on this issue. First is given the classification of radioactive waste according to various criteria. Consequently, it is defined and described the fuel cycle, as the largest producer of all types of radioactive waste. Then is analyzed approach of the Czech Republic to the management of all type radioactive waste and the attitude to deep geological repository. At the end are some, in this respect, major countries and their attitude to deal with spent nuclear fuel, radioactive waste and the method of final disposal.
Sustainable energy sources
Doležal, Jan ; Nerud, Pavel (referee) ; Škvařil, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is a recherche dealing with sustainable energy sources. It lists and describes the various sources and shows their operating principles. In the last part it evaluates their current use in the Czech Republic and the possibilities for further development from economic and technical point of view.
Heat pump heating for a house
Loibl, Jan ; Hrnčířová, Michaela (referee) ; Nerud, Pavel (advisor)
The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis deals with introducing to the issue of heat pump systems. The functioning principle of the most widely used heat pump type is explained here as well as its coeficient of performance, its operational modes and fundamental components. In addition, possible ways of heat pump systems application in terms of obtaining lowpotential heat are introduced. In the practical part the calculation of thermal loss of selected family house is discussed together with the calculation of heat requirements for heating and domestic hot water. The following part focuses on the selection of the most appropriate type of heat pump systems for covering heat demands of the selected house. The final part poses economical assesment of the designed heat pump system including the calculation of investment recovery.
Fuel of nuclear reactors and fuel cycle
Bátěk, David ; Nerud, Pavel (referee) ; Šen, Hugo (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes nuclear fuels used in today's nuclear reactors as well as parts of fuel cycle, which includes all activities like uranium mining and prepairing, energy utilization and storage at the end of a cycle. There are also information about world production of uranium and posibilities of manipulation with used nuclear fuel, including transmutation technologies.
Thermoelectric Power Generation System
Brázdil, Marian ; Nerud, Pavel (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
In the last decade there is a rising interest in thermoelectric applications. Thermoelectric generators enabling the direct conversion of the heat into the electricity become attractive. This fact is caused by the demands of environmental operation and saving primary resources. Scientists intensively investigate and develop new materials and structures suitable for these applications. The efficiency of the thermoelectric conversion progressively increases. Unfortunately we have no available materials with sufficient thermoelectric properties which could provide cost-competitive price. Thermoelectric generators seem to be useable devices. For example, in case of the unused waste heat using of the thermoelectric generator can increase the overall effectiveness of the unit despite the low efficiency of the generator. This master thesis deals with the issue of the Peltier modules representing the main part of the thermoelectric generators. The physical principles and structures of the thermoelectric modules and the possibility of thermoelectric power production are described here. In the practical part of this thesis the design of the low power generator utilizing waste heat from biomass boiler Verner A 251.1 is proposed.
Improving of reliability for NPP
Dubovský, Dávid ; Šen, Hugo (referee) ; Nerud, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this paper is to describe and evaluate the reliability of nuclear plants at Bohunice (EBO). Then illuminate the methods for increasing the reliability and specify one of them (INPO AP 913). After describing the methods, summarize the work results of this method and proposes the way of application.
Evaluation of power and coolant flow in reactor core
Tvrdý, Miloslav ; Šen, Hugo (referee) ; Nerud, Pavel (advisor)
This graduation thesis deals with evaluation of power and coolant flow in reactor core. The first part is a description of nuclear power plant VVER 440. It is focused on parts important for transfer and utilize energy in regular operating of generating block. In the second part, the equations for calculation of power and coolant flow in reactor core are deduced. The last part is about designing the program for calculation of published values. There are specified requirements for the program and on the basis of this the source code is written. The parts of code are described. In conclusion of this part, the user's manual is work out. The program is on CD in the annexe.
Mikrokogeneration for small rezidential buildings
Opluštil, Marek ; Nerud, Pavel (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The topic of this diploma study is to compile an overview of Domestic CHP units. The work is divided into three sections. The first section includes a summary of suitable CHP units. The second portion discusses the possibly methods of accumulation heat and electrical energy exploitable connection with CHP units. Last part of thesis is devoted to study apply CHP units in power supplyes choice object.
Inovation components of EPR project
Martinek, Miroslav ; Šen, Hugo (referee) ; Nerud, Pavel (advisor)
The target of this work is to find innovative elements of EPR project. In the first part the paper deals with an introduction to the topic and explains water pressurized reactors.
