Menclová, Anika ; Topolová, Barbara (advisor) ; Sarkissian, Alena (referee)
This bachelor thesis explores the censorship of dramatic productions within the repertoire of the National Theatre in Prague during the Nazi occupation. The thesis focuses on the cultural- political attitudes of the Nazi regime, as well as their interventions in the theatre industry. In addition, it provides an explanation of the censorship mechanism, including the creation of lists of permitted and forbidden plays, and describes the themes of plays that were deemed undesirable. The National Theatre's dramatic repertoire is analysed according to the theatre season, with particular attention given to the authors featured and the changes implemented due to censorship regulations. The final chapter provides specific examples of National Theatre productions from 1939 that were problematic and subject to elaborate censorship interventions. Key words censorship, theatre, regulations, interference, dramatics, protectorate, National Theatre
