Title: The Comparison of Results of Diagnostic Methods of Anaerobic Thresholds in Rowing Aims: The aim of the work is to compare the most used diagnostic methods of anaerobic thresholds on a rowing machine. Methods: This diploma thesis is a quantitative empirical research. To compare diagnostic data was used the Concept 2 rowing machine. The rowing machine was also used as an instrument for evaluation of five types of test methods for the anaerobic threshold diagnostics and the sixth control test, respectively. Exanimated functional values were determined using a HR monitor Garmin Fenix 6 and a Lactate scout lactometer. Exponential regressions in MS Excel were used to evaluate lactate curve tests. The homogeneous sample group consisted of 10 club rowers (n = 10). Results: We used basic statistical methods for data analysis, paired t-test, and correlation analysis (Pearson's correlation coefficient). Comparing the functional values of the monitored diagnostics, we found that the descending time protocol of the lactate curve was the most accurate methods of anaerobic threshold diagnostics for the control twenty-minute test. The compared functional values of other tests against the control test showed a statistically significant variation at the level of significance p ≤ 0.05. Other used methods of...
Description of selection fitness criteria for selected national teams and dependence of such criteria on performance in a single scull
Hellebrand, Jaroslav ; Bílý, Milan (advisor) ; Lukš, Josef (referee)
Title: Description of selection fitness criteria for selected national teams and dependence of such criteria on performance in a single scull Aim: The main focus of this work is to describe current fitness selection criteria to national teams and ascertain the connection between these criteria and performance in a single scull. Methods: The structure of this thesis is descriptive. The practical part presents the relationship between selected fitness criteria obtained from 11 participants. The relationship is expressed as a correlation coefficient. Twelve values were acquired from each participant, sorted into 3 separate categories.  Tests of maximum power (1RM)  Endurance tests  Rowing ergometr tests Results: It was found that rowing federations select competitors primarily through ergometer testing, namely the tests for 2 km and 5 km or 6 km. Sculling performance is mainly dependent on individual's endurance capabilities with a correlation coefficient of r = 0, 62 and on dead lift with correlation coefficient of r = 0, 64. Power output per unit weight during endurance tests turned out to be irrelevant. So did squatting with added weight (r = 0, 00) and 1500m running (r = 0, 03). Ergometer tests which are characteristic for rowing showed medium correlation (r = 0, 58). Conclusion: None of the...

Kyselá, Kristýna ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Lukš, Josef (referee)
Title of diploma thesis: Comparison of the conditions for leisure rowing in Portugal and in the Czech Republic Author: Bc. Kristýna Kyselá Supervisor of diploma thesis: Prof. Ing. Václav Bunc, CSc. Objective: Mapping the attitudes with opinions of rowing coaches from outside Prague rowing clubs on the implementation and management of leisure rowing by adults in clubs of their competence. Then determination whether the demand for courses for newcomers with no previous experience with rowing correspond with offer in the interviewed rowing clubs. Methodology: To meet the objectives of the work was made survey, which was conducted with fourteen responsible rowing coaches from different rowing clubs from seven regions. Results: This thesis contributed to the possibility of using rowing for addressing the decrease of the fitness and change from a sedentary lifestyle to an active, when rowing positively affects several components of fitness. Based on the investigation it was found that it is an interest in leisure rowing in rowing clubs outside of Prague, where in six sections leads to its realization. The research also pointed out that the main problem of the introduction of leisure rowing into the clubs outside of Prague is money. Keywords: fitness, lifestyle, activ lifestyle, healthy lifestyle, Crew...
