Conflict prevention in the workplace
Litavská, Tereza ; Pekara, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kočovská, Eva (referee)
This work is focused on the analysis of conflicts in the intensive care unit of a regional hospital in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part of the work, an introduction to conflict is given. The work also introduces the unit and the Safewards concept. The practical part analyzes and discusses conflicts in a specific intensive care unit and provides recommendations for practice. To enable this, a questionary survey, subsequent analysis of hypotheses and interview with the unit manager were used. Intervention cards for intensive care units were created, based on the Safewards concept, which are freely available as a supplement to this work. Although it was found that worker-patient conflicts are reported more frequently than interpersonal conflicts, the interview with the unit manager suggested limitations of this outcome. Further limitations were outlined and discussed regarding the utilization of a questionnaire survey for the assessment...

Litavská, Tereza ; Svobodová, Hana (advisor) ; Janečková, Hana (referee)
The aim of this work is to examine the influence of Czech TV series on the perception of the nursing profession. Emphasis is placed on clarifying the role of television series as a source of information about nursing care. Main focus of this work is to find out, on a set of health care professionals and non-health care workers, what source of information is most often used for obtaining information about health care. It is also discussed how people in the Czech Republic perceive nursing care in Czech TV series and whether there are work-related, social and demographic factors that influence the opinion on the care in TV series. The theoretical part describes the most important Czech TV series depicting the profession of nurses, in terms of action and how they depict work clothes and nurses' visage. The historical development of nurses' uniforms is also described. The practical part is realized in the form of an analysis of a questionnaire survey. Based on hypotheses, the objectives of the work are discussed and the results are compared with analogous studies abroad. Overall, the thesis highlights the missed opportunity in educating the public about the profession of nurses. The main output of the thesis is the fact that people in the Czech Republic are aware that TV series are only dramatization...
