Design „micro-urbanism“ in designated area. Aim of this work is to find suitable development strategy of open city block. Bachelor‘s thesis adresses design of poly-functional building, including town hall and housing in city Brno. The main theme is to find maximal, yet optimal solution to site, which functions as parking space. The design tries to complete corner of designated city block, which will be part of future „south“ neighbourhood. The townhall and housing should function in harmony, which means the building will „live“ all-day long. The site is located in the node of historic centre and new planned neighbourhood. Between the site and neighbouring building will be parking garage tucked under the ground. Also there will be multifunction hall undergound center of the site. Design of the volume is complex and consists of pedestal and 3 towers. These towers volumes pixelate into the pedestal and open into the courtyard. Facade consists od unite form, which disolves and open in the upper levels.

Residential Complex in Brno - Komín

The target was to design a residential complex, which fits into an existing scattered surroundings and do not try remain with the range. The complex consists of a clearly defined masses oriented parallel to contour lines. Atrium and terraced house are taking turns. The space between them forms an unusual space without automobile traffic. The proposal includes a public recreational area located on the route to Palacky hill.

The building tries to complete corner of designated city block, which will be part of future „south“ neighbourhood. The townhall and housing should function in harmony, which means the building will „live“ all-day long. Between the site and neighbouring building will be parking garage tucked under the ground between malá Amerika and the designated area. The park will be situated above the parking garage to be open to the public. Building is composed by a pedestal in which town hall is situated. On the pedestal are placed 3 housing clusters. These clusters are designed the way which makes the volumes contrast.

The diploma thesis follows the project of the pre-diploma, in which detailed analyzes of the potential of the village were made, from which it follows that the most important place that the village needs to revive for further development is the village square itself. In the current state, a cluster of buildings is built on a clearly defined area of the village, which brings chaos and confusion to the urban structure. The building of the municipal office stopped communicating through the building of the former elementary school. The area between buildings, formerly designed for local residents to hold festivals, now serves as a handling yard. The aim of the work is to clean the area of the village, to restore its original lost character and to add the urban structure to a building that will serve both local inhabitants and tourist visitors.
