Inter-subject relations between chemistry and geology in natural sciences
Kálalová, Anna ; Čtrnáctová, Hana (advisor) ; Teplý, Pavel (referee)
Thesis is fixed on inter-subjects relations between chemistry and geology in context of science education. Thesis concern subject matter defined in curricula for grammar schools, which is devoted inorganic chemistry, mineralogy and petrology. Next there is lucid compile inclusion these themes to school curricula in other grammar schools. Thesis emphasizes mainly to practical works in teaching mentioned subjects i.e. experiments. There are compile topics for chemical and physical experiments, which are useful for demonstration inter- subject relations between these subjects and geology. Worksheets with creative solutions were made for these experiments; there are component of enclosure of this thesis.
Mineralogy in the School curricula
Kálalová, Anna ; Matějka, Dobroslav (advisor) ; Ziegler, Václav (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on teaching geology and mainly mineralogy on grammar schools. Questionnaire was made for purposes of this bachelor thesis. Objective of this questionnaire was to ascertain information about organization teaching geology and mineralogy on these types of schools and their inclusion in the school curricula. The questionnaire results showed that each school is very different in organization of teaching geology. Mineralogy is most often taught in first classes of four-year, or an equivalent multi-year study. Mineralogy is at some schools taught only in classes corresponding to an elementary school. Optional subject in which is the geology taught students may choose only to nearly forty percent of surveyed schools. Schools use a lot of sorts of material - textbooks for elementary and secondary schools, university textbooks, professional books and Internet resources. The most common tools used in the teaching of geology are collections of samples. Very frequent are also models of crystals and the geological maps. Fewer common are paintings, photographs and films with a geological theme. Uncommon are tools for microscopy and geological compass. 48 % of grammar schools incorporate to education laboratory work and geological or mineralogical excursion, 4 % only laboratory...
Chemistry - Geology relatives in the Science education
Kálalová, Anna ; Čtrnáctová, Hana (advisor) ; Teplý, Pavel (referee)
In my bachelor thesis I fixed myself on inter-subject relations between chemistry and geology in natural sciences in grammar schools. I looked up this theme in curricula for grammar schools and I made chemistry and geology school-books research. I selected several usual minerals and rocks with useful chemical composition and I wrote chemical and geological information about them. I found chemical experiments with this chemical substances, modified them and did them.
Unconventional Activities for Popularization and Teaching Chemistry
Kálalová, Anna ; Teplý, Pavel (referee)
Title Unconventional Activities for Popularization and Teaching Chemistry Abstract Decreasing concern in science, especially in chemistry and physics, leads to searching for ways to bring these sciences not only to pupils but also adults, who can then use the outcomes or mediate them to their children and thus excite their interest in these disciplines. Popularization of chemistry using traditional or unconventional ways thus becomes, together with chemistry teaching itself, increasingly important. This thesis is devoted mainly to chemistry popularization using unconventional activities. The theoretical part is about the importance of chemistry popularization and problems connected with it. Apart from that, it also deals with chemical tasks as activating means and the classification of learning tasks. The practical part contains prepared tasks with chemical themes. Selected themes are elaborated on for the levels of knowledge and skills of pupils of primary and secondary schools. The concluding part of the thesis summarizes the results obtained during the verification of the tasks in practice and introduces the possibilities of using the created tasks in chemistry teaching in primary and secondary schools.
