Supervisor′s email: ladislav.stanco@ff.cuni.cz Abstract: The work focuses on monuments with preserved original Hellenistic paintings. It gives a description of these monuments and a detailed analysis of the extant murals. It also follows motivs used on paintings and it looks for parallels to these themes on older funerary monuments. Marginally the work deals with Roman copies of lost Hellenistic originals. Iconography of Venus on the Roman gems and coins

This text defines different types of depictions of Venus on the roman gems and coins. It follows which of them are the most common and it describes these types. The text compares depictions of Aphrodite and Venus on gems with those on roman coins and it follows if they are similar or different. It takes up types which are rare or occur in limited period. There is also an mythological inscription about Aphrodite and Venus. This text interprets basic facts about roman gems and coins and it defines their function, evolution and motifs which are in general common on these kinds of artefacts.
