Gender inclusive language in interpreting between English and Czech

This thesis addresses gender inclusive language in interpreting from English into Czech. The aim is to contribute to a better understanding and application of gender inclusive language in interpreting between English and Czech and to provide insights for the improvement of interpreting services in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part introduces basic concepts related to inclusive language, describes the social context of language development, and the limitations and means of gender inclusive language. It specifically focuses on gender inclusive English and Czech and gender inclusive interpreting. The research is based on five interviews conducted with individuals experienced in interpreting gender inclusive language and organizations focusing on gender and non-binary issues. The result of the thesis is a handbook of gender inclusive language for interpreters working from English to Czech.
