Analysis of diaphragm movement during its postural function using m-mode ultrasonography in conjunction with spirometry Abstract The diaphragm is a principal inspiratory muscle that, together with the abdominal wall muscles, regulates intra-abdominal pressure, important for the postural stiffening of the spine. This dissertation aimed to analyse the movement of the diaphragm during breathing and postural loading, in relation to changes in respiratory volumes and abdominal wall tension. The theoretical part summarizes the current knowledge about the respiratory and postural functions of the trunk muscles, especially the importance of the diaphragm in maintaining spinal stability and preventing low back pain. The experimental part deals with the evaluation of postural- respiratory movement of the diaphragm using M-mode ultrasonography in conjunction with spirometry and a device called DNS Brace. The assessment was performed during several scenarios that included breath-holding, tidal breathing and loaded breathing while lifting a weight with spontaneous or voluntary contraction of the abdominal muscles. This research suggests that when the postural demands increase, the diaphragm is displaced in a more caudal position not only during inspiration but also during breath-holding. The voluntary contraction of the...

Relationship between hip muscles and dynamics front kick while using ballistic vest and backpack
Maleček, Jan ; Vágner, Michal (advisor) ; Šťastný, Petr (referee)
Title: Relationship between hip muscles and dynamics front kick while using ballistic vest and backpack. Objective: Determine the rate of the relationship among isokinetic strength of hip muscles during flexion and extension movement, external and internal rotation and the dynamics of the front kick while using the military personal protective equipment. The method: The master thesis corresponds with an empirically based study of observational type. The measured research sample consisted of students (n = 15) of Military Department attending full-time and combined form of study at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University in Prague. Dynamics of front kick were measured by dynamometric Kistler plates and evaluated through computer software BioWare. Isokinetic strength of hip muscles during flexion and extension movement, external and internal rotation was tested and rated by isokinetic dynamometer Humac Norm. The flexibility of selected muscles group was measured by a specialist in physiotherapist area. The Spearman rank correlation coefficient of the order (rs) was chosen for the final evaluation of the rate of relationship. The results: The strongest correlation relationship was between the external hip rotation muscles (at speed 90 řs-1 ) and the impact force on the...

Real Estate Division - a Farmstead
Šťastný, Petr ; Simonides, Martin (referee) ; Šmahel, Milan (advisor)
The present diploma thesis ‘Practical Division of a Real Estate – Agricultural Farmstead‘ is concerned with actual division of an agricultural homestead in XXX, the district of Olomouc. Based on the local examination which has been performed and after analyzing documents acquired from the owners, conclusions were drawn as to the possibility of dividing the estate while adhering to the applicable regulations of the civil procedure, construction law, construction technology, operational technology and economy. Valid price guidelines were used to determine the price of the estate and a comparative price of the estate was also estimated. Both price levels were also determined for the individual parts established by the practical division of the estate. The thesis consists of two basic sections. The first section focuses on theory, explaining the problem of practical division of an estate and providing a description of work of a certified expert drawing up this type of expert opinion. The second section comprises a practical part, which contains the expert opinion on the actual division of the agricultural homestead in the town of XXX in the Olomouc district.

Šťastný, Petr ; Gabrhel, Petr (referee) ; Mandelík, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the process of acquiring subsidies from the European Union (hereinafter EU) structural funds and provides a complex view to all preliminary and main requirements, which are necessary for financing of both, investment and noninvestment projects, from EU funds. Next substantial objective of this thesis is to describe various structures of subsidy funds currently offered by European Union.

Author: Mgr. Roman Juřík Title: The effect of modifications in resistance training parameters on blood pressure values during and after the training session. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the acute effect of various forms of agonist- antagonist paired set and agonist resistance training on selected cardiovascular parameters in individuals with normal blood pressure and stage I hypertension. Methods: This research was conducted as a single-blind, controlled study. Based on a systematic literature search, specialized resistance and aerobic training sessions were designed. The program lasted four weeks and included a familiarization phase lasting one week. Prior to the cross-sectional study, anthropometric measurements, biochemical sample collection, muscle strength and fitness testing, and subjective assessment of training intensity using the Borg Scale were conducted. The study consisted of four different resistance training sessions and one aerobic session. Resistance training were categorized into two basic methods: agonist- antagonist paired set and traditional (agonist) training, as well as based on targeted muscle groups (upper and lower body). Training variables were defined as follows: resistance load at 75 % of 1RM, rest interval between exercises and sets of 90 seconds, 3...

The effect of different kinds of instant fascial release techniques for improvement of range of motion and muscle stiffness
Pisz, Anna ; Šťastný, Petr (advisor) ; Malá, Jitka (referee) ; Svoboda, Zdeněk (referee)
Title: The effect of different kinds of instant fascial release techniques for improvement of range of motion and muscle stiffness Objectives: This research aims to critically evaluate the effectiveness of immediate fascial release techniques such as tissue flossing (TF) and foam rolling (FR), on range of motion (ROM), viscoelastic properties of the muscle, dynamic stabilization and jump performance among athletes and fitness enthusiasts. Methodology: Cross-over design of the study, where all participants underwent three types of conditioning: tissue flossing, foam rolling or control. The study used a comprehensive methodology that included an active knee extension test, a Y-balance test, jump performance was measured using force plates and viscoelastic properties of Biceps Femoris (BF), Rectus Femoris (RF) and Vastus Lateralis (VL) of both legs were used to assess the impact of TF and FR conditionings. Participants were measured before conditioning and respectively in 2nd and 15th minute after conditioning activity. Two-way repeated measures ANOVA was used to evaluate the data. Results: Tissue flossing and foam rolling significantly improved ROM in both legs when compared to the control group, however no significant differences occurred between any of the conditions. Jump height experienced a...
