Assessment of probable causes of corrosion damage of a mould made of cast iron
Sobola, Petr ; Pantělejev, Libor (referee) ; Man, Ondřej (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis deals with solution of problems on glass moulds. Those moulds were exposed to the corrosion medium for up to two days which caused their damage. The thesis contains theoretical analysis of the problem, layout for the corrosion experiment and its execution. Based on the experiment a conclusion was pronounced that we cannot definitely say that 48 hours were enough to achieve as high the damage as was observed.
Optimization of heat treatement process for alloyed case hardenening steel
Roubalová, Jana ; Pantělejev, Libor (referee) ; Jan, Vít (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the assessment of the influence of heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of medium alloyed steel 18CrNiMo7-6. The work contains assessment and further proposal of suitable austenitizing temperature for heat treatment. To select the optimal variants of heat treatment five different temperature modes were tested. The theoretical part describes the various methods of heat treatment, with a focus on medium alloyed steels. The practical part presents microstructure of the evaluated steel, its hardenability and hardness depending on the temperature regime of treatment.
Assessment of probable causes of corrosion damage of a glass-shaping mould
Jíša, Jakub ; Pantělejev, Libor (referee) ; Man, Ondřej (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was to characterize briefly the issue of electrochemical corrosion in the aquatic environment with a focus on cast-iron corrosion and then decide whether the observed damage to the glass-forming mold could arise in the course of two days. A simple corrosion experiment was made in which samples of cast-iron were exposed to the shower of water for 48 hours. Corrosion damage under simulated conditions did not reach the level of damage of the mold.
Microstructural stability of Mg-alloys prepared by severe plastic deformation
Piňos, Jakub ; Man, Ondřej (referee) ; Pantělejev, Libor (advisor)
SPD methods allow to obtain ultra-fine-grained structure (UFG) in larger volumes of material and thereby improve its mechanical properties. The microstructure obtained by these methods is thermally unstable, so use of UFG materials at elevated temperatures is limited. Heat exposure leads to grain coarsening and the deterioration of mechanical properties. This work is focused on the thermal stability of Mg-alloys of AZ group.
The application of legal standards in materials engineering
Večeřa, Petr ; Pantělejev, Libor (referee) ; Pavloušková, Zina (advisor)
The thesis describes points where the basic universal prescriptive system of law interferes with the questions of materials engineering. The main part of the thesis concerns legal liabilities, mainly civil liability represented with liability for defects. Basic analysis of chosen topics concerning liability for defects is done, defects are divided into groups as far as both technical and legal point of view is concerned. Consequently, the most common methods, principles and tests used for recognition and assessment of materials characteristics, both destructive and non-destructive, are described. Chapter, which deals with degradation processes follows. Integral part of the thesis are thoughts of possible types of legal liabilities, which could be important for materials engineers, with basic recommendations for contracting, as well as chosen problems connected with judicial proceedings and out of court settling of disputes. Technical standards are described with high attention, because both technical and legal public is not familiar with the legal background of technical normalisation.
Hydrogen embrittlement of conjuction bolts
Vlk, Václav ; Pantělejev, Libor (referee) ; Foret, Rudolf (advisor)
Thema of this bachelores thesis is analyse of few broken screws. By this screws is suspicion of material degradation as a result of hydrogen embrittlement. Interpretation of breach and fracture was maked by mechanical examination, chemical, matalography and fractographical analyses.
Processing Methods of Fine-grain Materials (ECAP)
Jonák, Martin ; Man, Ondřej (referee) ; Pantělejev, Libor (advisor)
Method of equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) is very significant SPD method whereby we are able to obtain a bulk material with UFG structure. This research deals with fundamental principles of ECAP method, an influence of the constructional design of a pressing channel and factors related to processing modes on properties of a final structure. Further, this research describes some modifications of a conventional ECAP method and processes based on its principle.
Study of the Microstructure of the UFG Copper in UHV SLEEM
Mikmeková, Šárka ; Hovorka, Miloš ; Müllerová, Ilona ; Frank, Luděk ; Man, O. ; Pantělejev, L.
UHV SLEEM is an excellent method for observing grains in polycrystals thanks to much faster acquisition of data relative to EBSD. Specific energy dependences of the electron reflectance can be used for identifying the grain orientations.
Influence of pre-strain on cyclic creep of copper
Pantělejev, Libor ; Kunz, Ludvík
Cyclic stress component can either accelerate of decelerate the cyclic creep of copper loaded with a high mean stress, according to details of the start-up procedure of a fatigue test.
