Local actors and social networks in the Šumava national park

This thesis focuses on the issue of the development of the Šumava National Park, which is in the long-term determined by external political and social circumstances. In terms of the local development there are defined key actors whose activities and level of their cooperation affects the quality of social capital, which influences the character of horizontal and vertical social networks. An important aspect of the social-economic development of the case study area is the relationship between local municipalities and the Šumava National park management, whose activities are regulated by specific laws. Based on field survey of representatives of local development we identified key factors forming this relationship and affecting the social development of the protected area. The Development Potential of the Smallest Municipalities

The present thesis deals with the influence of human resources for the development potential of selected villages situated in the area of inner periphery of the Vysocina Region. Within the scope of polarized geographical space areas with varying degrees of stability and potential for development can be identified, where endogenous development opportunities can be considered as crucial factors- in particular the level of human resources. The present thesis monitors the quality of human and social capital on the example of three villages, using the combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods. The capitalization rate and utilization of human resources is evaluated mainly in terms of involvement of local partakers/participants, their levels of cooperation and participation of the population in public life. The aim is to find out how human resources in the surveyed municipalities affect their development in the future.
Evaluation of Local Action Groups' Activity

The thesis deals with action of local action groups (LAGs) in the Czech Republic at the beginning of the new programming period. During the last seven years, LAGs proved to be an ideal cooperation platform of local actors, which leads to the integrated development of its home territory. The aim of this work is to evaluate the activity of LAGs, with an emphasis on the process of social networking, sectors cooperation at the local level, promote economic activities LAGs and ensure their operation. Analysis of the functioning of LAGs was based on guided interviews with LAG managers or LAG directors, and representatives of rural development institutions. Selection of interviewed LAG representatives was based on the LAGs evaluation from 2010, 2011 and 2012. Results of guided interviews with LAGs' representatives and experts served to define the barriers that currently impede the development of rural areas through the LEADER method and community planning. Furthermore, the results of field research confirmed that LAGs activity supports the development of social networks in its home territory and breaking down barriers between public, private and non-profit sectors.
The relationship between strategic and spatial plan on the example of Lázně Bodaneč

This bachelor work is generally focused on spatial and strategic planning as well as their common bond. Using the literature review are shown and explained basic concepts, which can be in the field of spatial planning or strategic found. This paper also describes how they may be related to both documents and and conversely, where they differ. The research is based on verbal text analysis and comparison of the two documents. There are also links to these spatial and strategic plans of Lázně Bohdaneč near Pardubice. In a few specific cases, it is shown how both types of planning of cooperate. Finally, these links are confirmed.
Natural Environment as Potential and Limit of the Socioeconomic Development

The bachelor thesis deals with natural environment in strategic plans of microregions, in which natural environment can appear as a potencial and a limit of the socioeconomic development. The aim of this thesis is to research the role of natural environment in strategic plans of microregions. The next aim is to evaluate importance of natural environment components in analytical and proposal part of documents. Method of critical text analysis, exactly analysis of three strategic plans of microregions, which were chosen on the basis of some determined criterions, is used in this thesis. The analysis is focused on three thematic parts. Firstly, on structure of natural environment, secondly, on evaluating of natural environment from the point of view of the socioeconomic development, and thirdly, on the bond between the natural environment and the proposal socioeconomic development.
Tourism as a Factor of Rural Development

- Tourism as a factor of rural development Tourism is one of the most common forms of the regional development. The same is in the case of rural areas, which had undergone a significant change (social, economical, environmental) in the last decades. Due to the waning influence of agriculture in the rural economy, the need for diversification is growing. In this context, tourism is one of the most mentioned possibilities in the academic and development publications. Its development is one of the priority axes in all Regional operation programs. Given the apparent simplicity of its development and use, is often applied across the board, irrespective of the actual conditions. The aim of this work is to analyze the economic benefits of tourism to rural communities and evaluate projects aiming to promote tourism, which have been implemented in municipalities with 3,000 inhabitants in 2007 - 2013. The first part focuses on the theoretical framing of the issue of rural transformation and describing tourism as one of the possibilities of the development. Next follows the analyze of its economic impact in the villages according to the intensity of entrepreneurial activity and employment rate in tourism. The Position of the of Local Action Groups in the Czech Countryside

This thesis focuses on the topic of local action groups in the area of the Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis is to discover what is the conternporary status of the local action groups in the Czech rural area. The research is based on the evaluation of the local action groups done by their members and also on an analysis of activities of the local action groups. The research was done in three local action groups which were chosen to be supported in the program LEADER in the period 2007-2013. The thesis comes out of the assumption that the activities done by the local action groups can influence their position in the rural area. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the definition of term "country", approach to the rural development, method LEADER, program LEADER and the term of local action groups are introduced in this part. The practical part of the thesis is the research itself. The analysis of documents and questionnaire investigation by the members of LAG should confirm or deny the stated hypothesis.

This Diploma Thesis deals with the evaluation of cooperation within The Local Action Group "Podlipansko". The aim of the work is to evaluate possibilities of the group's development by focusing on attitudes and willingness of its members. The first part consists of theoretical approaches towards the development of countryside. It speaks about the policy of countryside development as well as about the "Leader method" and the Local Action Group. The second part examines the desired aim. By means of gathering questionnaires with "MAS" members, the interview with the director of the organization and the analysis of acquired documents it provides answers to the questions asked. Municipal plan implementation - causes and consequences

This thesis deals with the topic of town and country planning as an instrument of spatial development. During its formation proces and its validity, the municipal plan is being substantially influenced by requirements of the specific area users for its utilization, either ditectly or through elected representatives, with concurrent influence of external socieoeconomic, political, physical geographical factors. The municipal plan represents a long term conception of spatial development and its segments, yet in the course of its validity, it is being completed and put into practice in the context of effect of those factors. The most significant socioeconomic change to affect the progress of town and country planning in the Czech Republic in last twenty years was the transformation of a socialist central planning-conception into a democratic conceptiton. The thesis deals with analysis of two documents - the current Municipal plan of Jablonec nad Nisou, issued 1998, including valid alterations, and new formation of municipal plan Jablonec nad Nisou in the stage of authorized concept. Community strategic planning as an instrument for city development

The objective of the thesis is to verify the method of community based approach to strategic regional planning as an instrument of local development. The emphasis is put on the public participation and the consequences that result from this approach. The methodology of the thesis is based on the critical analysis of particular steps during the preparation of one particular plan - Strategic regional plan of Vodňany. Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threads of community based strategic regional planning are formulated. The main hypothesis is confirmed - the community based approach to strategic planning is the proper method for designing a strategic plan in a small town, on the assumption that the political representation has a positive approach to the concept and the public is also involved and interested in the process. It is also confirmed that the strategic regional plan designed using the community based approach has greater chance to be implemented than the strategic plan designed using the expert method. Last but not least it is validated that while working out the participation project some new relations and connections are formed bewteen the participants which might cause establishing the social network that strenghten a formation of a social capital in the locality.
