Phraseology and its Applicability in Foreign Languages Teaching and Learning

This thesis is concerned with phraseology and its intertwining with didactics of foreign languages. The practical part consists of the analysis of a contemporary situation in didactics of foreign languages, particularly the utilization of idioms. Further, the frequency of using proverbs and other set phrases in modern textbooks for teaching foreign languages (namely German and Russian) is analysed. Czech, Russian and British Vocabulary Regarding Holidays and Traditions in Comparison

The aim of this thesis is to compare and contrast the most signifiant Christian Festivals celebrated in the Czech Republic, the Russian Federation and in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The theoretical part of the thesis analyses the customs, traditions and practices involved in the celebrations of Easter and Christmas in the three areas concerned. The thesis explains the importance of the religious content involved and compares and contrasts the similarities and differences in the ways the festivals are celebrated in the three areas. Special emphasis is given to the vocabulary used and how this vocabulary can be used to support the teaching of the English and Russian language.
Idioms Including Names of Sense Organs in Russian, Czech and German in Comparison

This bachelor thesis focuses on Czech, Russian and German idioms. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with phraseology, the linguistic discipline itself. In the first chapter, the thesis concentrates on the relation between language and culture. Afterwards, the thesis provides a short historical overview of the development of phraseology and solves the place of this discipline among both other linguistic and nonlinguistic disciplines. Further the thesis deals with the subject of the research in phraseology, i.e. the idiom. It summarizes its characteristics, divisions and functions and outlines the issues of equivalence of idioms. In the practical part of the thesis, the idioms including their semantics and synonymous expressions are organised into tables. These idioms containing the names of sense organs, are then compared on their syntactic and lexical levels.
Strong Cryptography on Smart Cards

The diploma thesis is focused on cryptography with smart cards. It describes smart cards from hardware and software side. The thesis compares well known operating systems used on smart cards. Specified operating systems are widely analyzed. There is introduction to password authenticated key establishment protocols. PACE protocol is described in details together with implementation proposal. The implementation on the Basic card platform follows. In the end there is the time analysis of the implementation and further improvements are suggested.
Phonetic literacy of Czech secondary school pupils in the Russian language

The dissertation deals with the pronunciation of Czech pupils in the Russian language. In this work, the phonetic literacy is defined and the attention is paid to its formation. The text is divided into three basic parts - the first is devoted to theoretical foundations which influence pupils' acquisition of the phonological system of a foreign language (from the linguistic, psychological and lingvodidactic points of view); the second part summarizes the results of the analysis of the relationship of Russian language teachers to the examined problem, the results of an analysis of available textbook sets and it describes a performed phonetic testing of secondary school pupils including the interpretation of its results; in the third part of the thesis there is a synthesis of the findings from both preceding chapters, followed by a discussion. During the research within the domain of the dissertation focus, quantitative and qualitative methods of educational research were used: a survey, content analysis of textbook sets, phonetic testing and analysis of recordings of students' authentic speech. The work provides a comprehensive view of the examined problem in the context of the current situation when the Russian language at Czech schools is taught as L3.
