Public policy of sects and new religious movements in the Czech Republic - Stakeholders analysis.

This work addresses the issue of sects and new religious movements from the perspective of public policy of Czech Republic, namely its relevant people involved in the field of policy making. In the first part we learn more about the definitions of the term sect, new religious movements and public policy from the terminological development to the definition within the scope of work. It also includes legal definitions, how does the Czech Republic operate with them. The second part is focused on the characteristics of pulic policy - places, people involved, tools and process - as and indispensable part of creation. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of people involved who are involved in this work and arrange for its subsequent implementation. Each person involved is described in terms of the characteristics of the issue, of its function in public policy, of the evaluation of the existing work and of the interest, influence and position they have in this issue.
Problems of social integration persons after serving a prison sentence

The diploma thesis "The Problems of Social Integration after Serving a Prison Sentence"deals in theoretical part with theories of punishment and function and aim of prison sentence. In more detail attention is paid to serving a prison sentence especially programmes of treatment in theoretical part. The corrective function of imprisonment is not in the long term accomplished and there is necessity to improve the system of care for person released from prison. Thesis tries to show necessity of continuity and deepening penitentiary with post- penitentiary care. Opinions of prisoners on the life reality after release are noticed in research part of this work.
Implementation of house arresting in Czech justice system

The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe and explain the main features of implementation practice of house arresting in the Czech Republic and consequently propose possible ways out in relation to subsequent (and successful) continuing of implementation procedure. In terms of theory there are reflected approaches of criminal law, criminology, penology, sociology and public policy. Within the research work, the space had been given to those participants immediately concerned and affected with house arresting agenda - judges, prosecutors, probators, ministry officers (Ministry of Justice), attorneys, watchdog organizations and experts on criminal law from academic sphere. House arresting had entered valid legal regulations in connection with new criminal law effectual since 1.1.2010. This new regulation substituted the pristine penal code. In new criminal law is significant shift of accent from tangible to formal conception of culpability. By the analysis of key participants of objective policy, identification of possible goals, adumbration of solution options is finally formulated optimal version. The opinions of law enforcement authorities to institute of the probation and mediation service in the Czech legal system

This thesis is concentrated on the detection and evaluation of views and experience of the institutions active in criminal procedure, namely the representatives of district courts, district prosecutions, municipal police departments of the Czech Republic and the Penitentiary of the Czech Republic. Furthermore, it deals with the position of the Probation and Mediation Service in the Czech legal system and its integration into criminal justice system. This domain is examined under three defined indicators: abbreviation of procedure, decrease of prison population and the impact of the social work implementation in justice on the offender resocialization. The investigated area was selected on the basis of study practices executed in the Probation and Mediation Service departments in Jablonec na Nisou and in Liberec, in the Prison Rýnovice and also partly by reading of expert essays, in which the results of researches concentrated on these areas are evaluated very contrarily. To achieve the objectives of the study was used a case study on probation centers in Jablonec nad Nisou and Liberec, the results were compared with a nationwide questionnaire survey.
Effect of education on ability of resocialization by young prisoners

1. RESUMÉ Aim of this work was afer to effect of education on repeated criminal activity made of prisoners of age 18-26. For gears of this work I specificity triple style of education, that is mean education in functional family, in functionless family and institutional care. And effect of particular educations scope I showed by researched in prison Horní Slavkov. We can say, that young prisoners belongs to the group of prisoners, which can be somehow affected. Their preparing for return to the sociality is absolutely necessary. It is evident, that every group of young prisoners has own specifics gained through education. We can't affect this way of education, so it is important to influence on young prisoners in the execution of punishment. This influence works through programmes of treatment in the prisons. That's why I would like to appeal to create this programmes individualy especially for young prisoners. I deal with this ways of treatment on prisoners in the age 18 - 26 in the last part of this work. I offer several variations which should provide or at least increase better resocialization of young prisoners to the society and through this lower number of recidivist in this age group. Regularization of irregular migrants as a softening tool of the negative impacts of illegal migration

The thesis, "Regularization of irregular migrants as a softening-tool of the negative impacts of illegal migration", concerns the area of illegal migration and solving the problem of large number of people living illegally in country. It offers overview of various forms of illegal migration and points out the negative consequences of these kinds of forms of migration, from which it focuses specially on illegal employment of migrants. The thesis contains an analysis of the processes of one-time regularizations of irregular migrants as a softening-tool of the negative impacts of illegal migration. The case of Spain is used to provide the analysis. Spain has used programs of regularization in the past repeatedly. The subject of this analysis is detection of weak spots when launching regularizations which led to their failure. Based on the identification of these problematic spots, the author offers suggestions concerning the implementation of this migration policy tool. Results of the analysis are applied in the concluding part of the paper on the situation in the Czech Republic. Firstly, the issue of the development of illegal migration is mentioned. The repeated offenders in the execution of a punishment

The Diploma Thesis, The repeated offenders in the execution of a punishment who are in prison, is about the people who have been punished at least once by imprisonment and now they are in prison again. These people have already passed the treatment which should have had a positive influnence on their behaviour after their release from prison. However, there has been a criminal activity again for some reasons. The thesis investigates the attitude and opinions of the final participants of resocializing programmes, the employees of tertiary prevention and the repeated offenders. The aim of this thesis is to find out the reasons of their behaviour.
Probation and mediation service in the Czech Republic, its importance and awareness of it

This diploma thesis deals with the Probation and Mediation Service in the Czech Republic, its importance and awareness of this service in society. The Probation and Mediation Service is a state organization that works in the field of criminal policy. Its main goal is to resolve the conflicts associated with criminal activities effectively and in favour of society. But this is not the only aim of the organization. It also strives for efficient and dignified execution of alternative punishments and measures. Probation and Mediation Service is based on a concept of restorative justice which is increasingly developing in the Czech Republic. It stresses the integration of offender, participation of victim and protection of society. The probation officers have to face many problems that make their work difficult. Key issue is a low awareness of the Probation and Mediation Service in society which is caused by insufficient PR strategy. The consequence of inadequate promotion is a limited cooperation between probation officers and offenders or victims. The low awareness is proved by the results of questionnaire surveys that were conducted among general public in the Czech Republic and clients of the Probation and Mediation Service centre in Prague. Crime prevention on housing estate

Diploma thesis "Crime prevention on housing estate" deals with specific characteristics of criminality and possibilities of crime prevention in housing estates. It summarises theoretical knowledge, international and European context of crime prevention and specifics of prevention work in Czech Republic and Prague. It also characterizes housing estates as an important phenomenon which offers housing in Czech Republic and it focuses especially on the situation in Prague. In case study of housing estate Jižní Město diploma thesis identifies crime problems and their causes such as anonymity and specific housing arrangement. Insufficient civic amenities, opportunities for leisure time activities, and social pathology concentrated in deteriorative areas of housing estate are other causes. Thesis also identifies stakeholders of crime prevention, their role and activities in prevention work. Although there are no characteristics of criminality and crime prevention which can be identified exclusively in housing estates, we can formulate some proposals for secure development of housing estates.
