History of "Bedřich Reich" textile factory in Česká Skalice

This thesis describes a history of Bedřich Reich's mechanical weaving - which was established on the turn of 19th and 20th century in Česká Skalice, a textile region in East Bohemia, by his father Karel Reich. From the historical sources of East Bohemia's archive are in the work mentioned technical proposals related to the factory construction, financial statistics and documents relating to the production of textile. In a separate section is presented the story of a Jewish family of Bedřich Reich, describing an idyllic life between two wars, however, at the time of the protectorate tragically touched by factory aryanization and transport to Terezín and Auschwitz. The main period occurs after the war, when the daughter of Bedřich Reich, Eva, returned as the only one home to Česká Skalice. In years 1945-1989, the factory became part of the national corporation Lina Jaroměř and later Mileta Hořice. The final part covers the beginning of the 90s, when the factory was returned in restitution to the descendants of Mrs. Reichová - Zelená.

The development of parish network in the context of the history settlement

Dissertation deals with the example of several areas of model development and reconstruction parochial parish boundaries in the Middle Ages. The research is based on medieval sources and retrospective projection of early modern sources. From the area archdeaconry Kouřimský selected two model areas on the territory of colonization was largely up during the Middle Ages colonization in the 13th century. This is an area of medieval deanery Havlíčkobrodský and territories Černokostelecko. For these areas were used except few medieval sources, particularly sources of the 17th and 18th centuries. As the last model was selected area Prague's Old Town, where you can watch unlike the previous two model areas dense network of church and its development since the early Middle Ages. The main reason for choosing Old Town is unusually rich source base, which may be used for the reconstruction of the parish network use to bridge basic source hiatus, with which science is usually encountered in the pre-season in attempts to reconstruct the parish boundaries in an area in the surface scale. Název v anglickém jazyce: The Influence of Political Systems and Ideologies on the National Theatre Ballet in Prague in the 20th Century The subject of the Thesis is the influence of political systems and ideologies on the National Theatre Ballet in Prague. The period of research spans mainly from the theatre season 1923/1924, when Remislav Remislavský was appointed the post of ballet master and choreographer, to the season 1989/1990, when Vlastimil Harapes assumed the post of the ensemble's chief. Two main periods are underlined: the period of World War II and the subsequent period of the Communist Party government after 1948. Persons of interest are mainly the bosses of ballet company for example Jelizaveta Nikolská, Joe Jenčík, Saša Machov or Jiří Němeček st. and others, but also soloists, and the repertoire of the ballet corps. This thesis is a scope of the evolution of ballet of National theatre in concern of political changes in 20th century.

The thesis aims to reconstruct the life and political influence of Elizabeth and how they changed after the death of her husband, Charles IV. The thesis will start before 1363, when the negotiations about Charles IV's fourth wedding began. The political motives of this marriage and its consequences will be described. The life of the royal couple until Charles IV's death in 1378 will then be briefly treated. The following part of the study will map in detail the relationships between Elizabeth and her sons and among the brothers themselves, specifically after Wenceslas IV' captivity. The next part will describe the political influence of Elizabeth after her husband's death. Her court as Queen widow will be also described in adequate extent.

Alois Jirásek (1851 - 1930) was an important Czech writer and author of many historical novels and plays. Jirásek's work has always been very popular. After World War II and the onset of communism in Czechoslovakia Jirasek was promoted to the chief authority in interpreting Czech history. The thesis aims to deal with the second life of Alois Jirásek in the 1950's in the context of filmmaking. This thesis will primarily focus on the films Temno (Darkness, 1950), Psohlavci (The Dog Heads, 1955), Jan Hus (1954), Jan Žižka (1955), Proti všem (Against All, 1956) and Ztracenci (Lost Children, 1956).

Czech Kingdom in The Chronicle of Otakar of Styria

The subject of the Masters thesis The Czech Kingdom in The Chronicle of Otakar of Styria is the history of Czech Kingdom in the Otokar of Styrias versified cronicle. The goal of this work is a comprehensive view of that cronicle as a historic source of cetral European history during the second half of the 13th and the beginning of the 14th century. The Masters thesis includes an evaluation the relationships between the central European sources of that time. It investigates both, the knetty question of the autor's live story and his motivation for writing a work around 100 000 verses. In particular chapters, various social groups, which the author focuses on, are examined (royal houses, aristocracy, burgher class, people). No particular social group can be considered in isolation. Thier interrelations are highlighted in the thesis. Following section introduces Otakar's description of certain central European regions (Austria, Styria, Carinthia, Hungary, Polen and the Holy Roman Empire), which is the foundation of my attempt to discover the cronicler's source and information base. Joanna of Rožmitál, the life story of a Bohemian queen by the end of the Middle Ages

The life of Joanna of Rožmitál (Rosenthal), who is mainly known as the wife of George of Poděbrady, was much more diverse and richer, than it could seem at first view. Being a noblewoman from a Catholic family, she married a "Calixtine."During her relatively short life, she managed to promote the succession of Jagiellonians to the throne, to participate in provincial diets, to resolve conflicts between Catholic and Calixtine noblemen and, after the death of her husband, to hold the highest office in the state. On the basis of extant sources and narrative literature I will try reconstructing Joanna's life, her court and heir governance along George's side and also after his death. Among other targets, the work will try to portray the life of a medieval noblewomen in a rather uneasy period.

The Pious Gifts in the Czech Middle Ages

This thesis focuses on the gifts of Czech and Moravian nobility to the church during the High Middle Ages. The pious gifts (Donations) are fundamental for the understanding of medieval devotion and for some aspects of medieval society. In the Middle Ages, the last wills and testaments expressed people's wishes, attitudes and intentions with respect both to these worldly and other matters. They express attitudes to other family members, to property, to life and death, to community and social groups, to the Church, to Saints and to God. The pious donations, support for the poor and the burial near Saints open up the gates to Heaven. But the pious donations are not only a part of one's care for the soul and redemption in the Middle Ages. The donations have complicated background. These gifts expressed religious, economic, political and representative intentions of the donors. The Pious gifts are a good tool for research of this part of society. The main aim of thesis is to describe the pious gifts given by the Czech and Moravian nobility from 1200 till mid-14th century. Jan Pelár, a musician who should not be forgotten

Jan Pelar is an integral part of the cultural heritage of Wallachia. He personally represented Wallachian culture at Ethnographic Exhibition in Prague in 1895. On this occasion he obtained his first musician concession. Reportedly, he composed the Wallachian anthem, "My sme Valaši" on his way to Prague. This work will focus on his musical career and his personal life which was extraordinary. This work will focus on his musical career, his extraordinary personal life and his legacy to younger musicians.

Image of Luxembourg in Czech history textbooks in the 19th and 20th century

The objective of this diploma thesis is to characterize the image of Luxembourgs in the Czech history textbooks in the 19th and 20th century. The work is based on the assumption that the history education takes a significant part in making a young person's identity. The thesis describes the development of this image and the way in which the educational literature reflected the atmosphere of the day and its transformation in the context of historical development. The dynamic development of the image of the Czech history of 14th and 15th centuries is the central theme of the work. It will be mainly focused on the historical figures of Bohemian Luxembourg kings: John of Luxembourg, Charles IV, Wenceslaus IV and Sigismund of Luxembourg.
