Bachelor thesis deals with the problematics of hindu nationalism in India. Its' goal is to describe the historical development of nationalistic organizations and to provide a brief overview of their structure and activities. It also puts a special emphasise on the role of women in these organizations.

Bachelor thesis sets a task to give a brief outline of the history of bengal when it was a part of the Mughal empire. It is devided into 3 parts. The first part is focused on the period when the inhabitants of Bengal were familiarizing with the new religion, with Islamism, which was coming to the Indian sub-continent and on the way it was becaming the part of the local culture. The second part describes Bengal as a part of the Mughal empire until the government was obtained by the British. And the third part depicts the mughal cultural and intellectual heritage. Buddhist art during the Pala rule

The topic of this thesis is visual art produced during the reign of Pala dynasty, which ruled in the region of Eastern India from 8th to 12th century. The Palas are well known for supporting Tantric Buddhism, Vajrayana. It also was the most powerful source of artistic inspiration in those days. Artists developed and followed many kinds of new techniques, from sculpture to painting. The aim of this thesis is to describe the period during which the Pala buddhist art was formed, to outline possible influences of other Indian artistic schools on it, to characterise it by the most commonly used techniques, topics and symbolism and to give a description of several art pieces that belong to this artistic tradition.

Bachelor Thesis Hinduism and architecture deals with a historical development of hindu architecture of Indian subcontinent. Thesis pursues this development from the roots of hindu architecture in Buddhist art of ancient times of India through emergence of first temples in times of Guptas till unbelievable flowering of hindu architecture in medieval times of India. It describes emergence of basic styles of hindu architecture and advancement of their regional branches. It pursues development and use of architectonic elements, symbolism of temples, which emerges from hindu believes and mythology, and also sculpture decoration, which is indisseverable part of hindu temples. Thesis also tries to put hindu architecture into historical context of India.

Bachelor thesis deals with the phenomenon of Christianity in India. The principal aim of the paper is to provide a basic knowledge about this phenomenon to the reader. It contains historical outline which search for characteristic historical shifts considered to have significant impact on the state of Christianity in India today. The second part of the paper focuses on the relationship between Christiantity and indian society with special regard to problems which led to the emergence of communal tensions. The last part of the work is concerned with the manifestation of popular Christianity in India.

The goal of this work is to give an account of a life, above all a political career of Indira Gandhi. The structure of this work is divided in chronological sequence, the first part considers entirely her personal life, the other parts of the work go in for Indira's political career against a background of a historical affairs in India since the beginning of 70th until 90th.

This bachelor thesis aims at providing a description of the most significant Indian political parties in terms of their history, character and influence on the development of the political situation in the state. An important part of the work consists in tracing the development of the Indian political scene from the beginning of the formation of the first political groups in the early 19th century to the last Indian general election in 2009. The work contains a brief political introduction explaining the basic concepts associated with the theme.

This bachelor thesis discusses the muslim community in India, which is a broad topic. The aim of this work is to present the most important features of the indian muslim society and to specify them in terms of their formation and functioning on the Indian land. The main subject of this thesis is the community which is formed by the Indian inhabitants who profess the islamic religion. To characterise the community, it is necessary to explain its formation from historical perspective, and to define the ideas of islam and its specifications affected by indian local customs. Moreover, the features and manners of such community are described.
Religious conversion and reconversion in contemporary India

Ve své diplomové práci jsem se za pomoci sekundární literatury pokusil vystihnout základní problémové okruhy náboženské konverze v Indii v jejím dějinném vývoji. Značná obsahová šíře daného tématu pochopitelně vybízí k dalšímu zpracování z mnoha odlišných úhlů pohledu a s daleko detailnějším zaměřením na konkrétní aspekty konfliktního soužití indických náboženských komunit. Tato práce se zabývala toliko vztahem křesťanství a hinduismu, a tak by jistě zásadně rozdílné, třebaže neméně pozoruhodné postřehy přineslo studium problematiky náboženských konverzí z perspektivy nejpočetnější náboženské minority v zemi - indických muslimů. Zásadním tématem, s náboženskými konverzemi a křesťanskými misiemi úzce souvisejícím, na jehož zpracování indické křesťanství po několik desetiletí stále marně čeká, se zdá být domácí systematická teologie, která bude muset reflektovat existenci minoritní křesťanské obce v prostředí, jež je nábožensky i kulturně vyhraněné a prosycené hlubokými tradicemi. Pozoruhodné poznatky zajisté také přinese pokračující dlouhodobé sledování osudů indických křesťanů ve 21. století, jakož i neustále se vyvíjející indické sekulární demokracie a vztahu politických stran k problémům místních náboženských menšin.
