Graphics card as a cheap supercomputer
Přikryl, Jan
The current powerful graphics cards, providing stunning real-time visual effects for computer-based entertainment, have to accommodate powerful hardware components that are able to deliver the photo-realistic simulation to the end-user. Given the vast computing power of the graphics hardware, its producers very often offer a programming interface that makes it possible to use the computational resources of the graphics processors (GPU) to more general purposes. This step gave birth to the so-called GPGPU (general-purpose GPU) processors that – if programmed correctly – are able to achieve astonishing performance in floating point operations. In this paper we will briefly overview nVidia CUDA technology and we will demonstrate a process of developing a simple GPGPU application both in the native GPGPU style and in the add-ons for Matlab (Jacket and Parallel Toolbox).
A simple device for quantitation of Caspase 3 in individual apoptotic embryonic cells
Hegrová, Jitka ; Klepárník, Karel ; Přikryl, Jan ; Lišková, Marcela ; Matalová, Eva ; Foret, František
A newly developed system for the determination of Caspase 3 activity in individual apoptotic embryonic cells is described. Caspase 3, a cysteine-aspartic acid protease activated in the apoptotic pathway, plays an essential role in the programmed cell death. Moreover, failure of apoptosis is one of the main contributions to tumor development.
Control of an intersection group in the shopping centre of Prague-Zličin - implementation study
Tichý, T. ; Musílek, P. ; Zobaník, P. ; Šeps, L. ; Vaněk, D. ; Přikryl, Jan ; Pecherková, Pavla
This text proposes and documents the implementation of a new traffic control system that will be tested in the shopping-mall area at Prague-Zličín. We propose that the system will be implementation in two respective three stages with their own milestones and requirements.
Preparation, physical-chemical properties and utilization of nanoparticles in bioanalysis
Svobodová, Ivona ; Hezinová, Věra ; Lišková, Marcela ; Přikryl, Jan ; Maděránková, D. ; Klepárník, Karel ; Foret, František
The possibilities of application of nanoparticles in bioanalysis were studied. Applications of quantum dots as a fluorescent markers, silver nanoparticles in SERS and conjucation of gold nanoparticles with antibodies were shown.
Application of nanoparticles in fluorescence microscopy and raman spectrometry
Přikryl, Jan ; Svobodová, Ivona ; Hezinová, Věra ; Lišková, Marcela ; Maděránková, D. ; Klepárník, Karel ; Foret, František
This contribution is devoted to application of quantum dots as perspective luminescence labels in fluorescence microscopy (epifocal and TIR fluorescence microscopy) and application of silver nanoparticles in surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy.
CdTe kvantové tečky - příprava, fyzikálně-chemické vlastnosti a aplikace jako fluorescenční značky
Hezinová, Věra ; Svobodová, Ivona ; Lišková, Marcela ; Přikryl, Jan ; Klepárník, Karel ; Foret, František
The set of different sizes of CdTe nanoparticles coated with MPA was synthetized and characterized by fluorescence spectra and lifetimes. Their application as a cell fluorescent markers was tested.
Potenciál kvantových teček při detekci jediné molekuly v buňkách a organelách
Přikryl, Jan ; Klepárník, Karel ; Svobodová, Ivona ; Hezinová, Věra ; Lišková, Marcela ; Preisler, J. ; Foret, František
This contribution is devoted to quantum dots usage for cell imaging in fluorescence microscopy. Fluorescence excitation by evanescence wave (caused by total internal reflection) is compared with conventional epifluorescence microscopy.
Mixtools 3000 interaktivní referenční příručka
Andrýsek, Josef ; Přikryl, Jan ; Šmídl, Václav
This document is a part of a larger project that aims is to create an object oriented MATLAB toolbox for support of dynamic distributed decision making under uncertainty. Summary of all implemented classes and methods is presented in a form of hypertext pdf file.
Content and position of copywriting in web life-cycle
Přikryl, Jan ; Gála, Libor (advisor) ; Kafka, Daniel (referee)
Main purpose of this thesis based on analysis, searching and synthesis of accessible sources is to describe web copywriter's role concerning content, to position copywriting into web life-cycle and to prove efficiency of copywriting by its application on specific web site. Thesis' contribution, except from outlining important -- but still unappreciated -- web copywriter's role, is to integrate web copywriting into separate phases of web development life-cycle. Practical part of thesis is beneficial as an illustrative sample of application web copywriting's principles onto existing web site. Thesis is divided into four chapters (except introduction and conclusion). In first chapter, Internet culture and its specialities concerning web copywriting are described, followed by detailed specification of principles and characteristics of web copy in terms of its structure and content construction. The second chapter is dedicated to binding web copywriting to rapidly growing marketing tool called search engine optimalization. The chapter also includes description of content and qualification aspect of SEO copywriter's role. The third chapter explains integration of web copywriting activities into web life-cycle's process model. The last chapter demonstrates on application of web copywriting onto running web site on practical example. Keywords: web copywriting, web life-cycle, SEO, web copywriter, web content
