Packaging Analysis of Incoming Components Considering Manufacturing Process

This thesis deals with the packaging of purchased components that enter into the production process. Based on the conducted analysis, proposals have been developed for improving the existing logistics process in order to optimize the processes of reception, registration, and expenditure of purchased components, and to simplify and eliminate basic types of wasteful use and activities that do not bring value into the process.

This thesis describes line balancing of indoor optical cable production. First, the thesis explains basics of classical and lean manufacturing management and tools that helps to achieve production line improvement. This theory is the baseline for practical part. With help of analysis of movement of workers and a time study, new standard work that increases line output is set up.

The Diploma thesis deals with process improvements in project management in Alstom Power s.r.o.. The thesis is divided into three basic parts - theoretical, analytical and proposal part. The theoretical part focuses on the description of the analytical methods for examining the business environment, which will afterwards be used to analyse the current state of a company's position in the second part, analytical part, of this work. In the analytical part are identified the same errors during the project implementation. In the last part of the own proposals are presented measures that could eliminate errors and streamline process of the project implementation.

The theoretical part defines basic concepts of selected problematics. The analytical part of the work describes the company where the thesis is processed. The practical part deals with selected indicators of the company and describes the current state of the problem. The proposal part defines possible solutions and selects the best option for the material flow management.

Business Process Management, the object of this thesis, has still growing importance in the functioning of the organization, and has a positive impact on its success. In the view of a dynamic market environment, Business Process Management has an inherent importance in the strategic business development. When an organization decides to implement process control and manage its activities, it should be also able to measure its processes and evaluate them. This ability gives the organization the possibility to efficiently and effectively manage processes and identify shortcomings for creation of business strategy on a competitive market. This dissertation presents a new evaluation model of a process control in the production systems, which organizations can use as a guide for further development. This work brings a new perspective in the field of process control and its evaluation of the production systems. The main objective of this dissertation is to design the assessment of the process control levels in the production systems on the basis of theoretical research and practical experience. The proposed solution was then verified by field research in selected organizations.
