The Old - Catholic Parish in Prague and the Emergence of the Czechoslovak Church

The diploma thesis is a contribution to the research of the religious crisis at the begining of the 20th century in the area of today's Czech Republic. It deals mainly with the Czech speaking Old-Catholic church, which was represented mainly by the parish of Prague. The thesis deals with the historical roots of Czech Old-catholicism, and with the points in common with the Catholic modernism movement. The thesis describes the emergence of the Czech speaking Old-catholic parish in Prague, its development and mainly its relations to other churches, to the newly established Czechoslovak church especially.

Educational Aims of Czech Jesuits in the 1st half of the 20th Century

Diploma thesis: "Educational Aims of Czech Jesuits in the 1st half of the 20th Century" deals with the Jesuits. The work begins with a brief outline of anti - catholic tendencies in the 16th Century and the history of the religious order Society of Jesus, i.e. Jesuits, untill the year 1950. The live of two founders of the order - St. Ignatius of Loyola and St. Francis Xavier are depicted more detailed. The main part of thesis contains description of the history of individual Jesuit Associations that were centers of spiritual activities. This is followed by depiction of Jesuit educational events in the period from 1926 to 1930, in particular in the territory of today's Czech Republic. My goal was to point out how Jesuits educated in the period from 1926 to 1930 and how could eventually some of their best educational strategies be applied today, not only in the Catholic Church. During preparation of thesis, I worked with available literature and also materials from the Czech Jesuit archive.

Persecution of the Cathars in Occitany territory

This essay deals with the Christian heresy called Cathars and their persecution in the territory of former Occitania. The essay is divided into three parts. The first part describes what generally consists Cathar's faith. The second part is dedicated to the territory of Occitania, there are also outlined the reasons why the Cathars were so powerfully rampant in this area. The third part is historically described the origin and course of the crusade against the Cathars, recharge the most important castles in their territory and the politico-social intentions, which are concealed behind this expedition. Finally, there is expounded birth of Inquisition focusing on eradicating heresy.
