The Future of “Panelák” Housing Estates
Kubínová, Šárka ; Wittmann, Maxmilián
Around one in three Czechs still live in housing estates composed of prefabricated concrete buildings (“panelák”). The construction of such estates was motivated by an enormous housing demand in towns and cities. In their time, “panelák” housing estates provided affordable housing with good sanitation for a large number of people. Before actual construction, significant amounts of energy were dedicated to theoretical work and analysis, resulting in highquality, functional and practical housing units. This is why, even today, people are still interested in living in these panel buildings.

Residential Complex in Brno - Komín
Pospíšilová, Zuzana ; Kubínová, Šárka (referee) ; Makovský, Zdeněk (advisor)
This design is based on the site's strong potential in regards to its attractive location near Brno city centre and at the same time its proximity to nature. The solution of volumes results from an effort to create a system of public through private spaces while maintaining the continuity of the whole. This residential complex can offer apartments of all sizes, from flatlets to five bedroom flats and even houses. It also provides its neighborhood with new possibilities to shop and to spend time outdoors.
NANOTECHNOLOGY AND BIOMATERIALS IN MEDICINE
Kubinová, Šárka ; Jendelová, Pavla ; Lesný, Petr ; Holáň, Vladimír ; Syková, Eva
Our studies focus on the use of nanotechnology in cell therapy and tissue engineering for the treatment of brain and spinal cord injury, corneal defects and chronic wounds.
Changes in intrinsic optical signals and extracellular space diffusion parameters. Do they have a common mechanism?
Chvátal, Alexandr ; Vargová, Lýdia ; Kubinová, Šárka ; Syková, Eva
We can therefore conclude that light transmittance changes do not simply correlate with changes in ECS volume, but they are clearly associated with neuronal activity accompanied by various biochemical, biophysical and morphological changes.
Diffusion of PHPMA polymers in brain extracellular space
Vargová, Lýdia ; Kubinová, Šárka ; Tao, L. ; Ulbrich, Karel ; Šubr, Vladimír ; Nicholson, C. ; Syková, Eva
The movement of bulky PHPMA polymers through ECS is limited in contrast to linear PHPMA macromolecules which have the same ability to explore ECS as small molecules.
