Mercury in waste water
Paříková, Lucie ; Čelechovská, Olga (referee) ; Dočekalová, Hana (advisor)
In the time period from November to April of the academic year 2007/2008 presence of mercury and its forms was monitored in the waste waters of Faculty of Chemistry, VUT in Brno. The level of mercury was determined as total mercury with help of the atomic absorption spectrometry method and in available forms by diffusive gradient in thin film technique.

Chromium and chromium species cycle in environment
Nevrlá, Jana ; Sommer, Lumír (referee) ; Dočekalová, Hana (advisor)
This work focuses in the first theoretical part mainly on the possibility of entering various forms of chromium into the environment, their accumulation and transformation in environmental compartments. There are also described methods of sampling for analytical determination of chromium, the type of treatment of these samples and the most analytical methodologies for the determination of chromium in the oxidation stage III and VI. The experimental part is focused on the quantitative determination of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in waste water, taken from the neutralizatoin station of the Chemical faculty of Brno University of Technology, by using selected spectrophotometric methods and the obtained results are compared with the results of analytical determination of total chromium by atomic absorption spectrometry.

Transport of selected metals from the soil to the plants
Šilerová, Iva ; Sommer, Lumír (referee) ; Dočekalová, Hana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the soil, contamination of selected heavy metals and transport of heavy metals from soil to plants. The entry of heavy metals, their reactions in the soil and their transport into the plant material are described here. Lead, cadmium and copper have been selected as the studied toxic metals. There are also described methods of soil sampling, sample preparation for analysis and determination of heavy metals in the sample.

Arsenic and arsenic species cycle in environment
Ševčíková, Kateřina ; Sommer, Lumír (referee) ; Dočekalová, Hana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis, based mostly on literature retrieval, deals with monitoring of individual arsenic compounds in the environment and is also reviewing methods used for their analysis. The experimental part is focused on determination of various arsenic in the Oncorhynchus mykiss tissue by HPLC-UV-HG-AFS. Obtained results showed that the arsenic was present in the tissue of the Oncorhynchus mykiss in form of arsenobetaine, which is common for fishes and other aquatic animals and is not toxic even for consuments.

Cycling of selected metals in the environment.
Šebková, Michaela ; Diviš, Pavel (referee) ; Dočekalová, Hana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a group of selected metals (nickel, zinc, copper, cadmium and lead) in environmental components. It occupies with natural and anthropogenic inputs of metals to the atmosphere, the water und the soil and with their transport among them components. It engages too in a question of a penetration of metals to the biosphere and in their ensuant transport within the biosphere. At each metal is description of its natural sources, chemical and physical properties, inputs in environment, transport within the biosphere and positive and negative effects on living organism is described for each studied metal. The last chapter of this thesis deals with determination of selected metals in environmental components. It discribes procedures of determination from planning over sampling and processing of sample to the final determination of metals by instrumental methods.

Cycling of mercury and mercury species in the environment
Finsterlová, Hana ; Diviš, Pavel (referee) ; Dočekalová, Hana (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the role of mercury in an environment. It summarizes informations about properties of mercury and its species. The thesis is engaged in the presence of mercury in atmosphere, water, soil and sediments. It deals with individual mercury intakes into the environment, anthropogenic or natural, and it follows transport of mercury between individual components of environment. Part of this thesis is given to the accumulation of mercury and mercury species into plants and organisms. It points out the toxicity of mercury, mercury species, and their effect to human organism. In the last chapter there is a resume and description of the instrumantal methods, which are commonly used for determination mercury and its compounds.

Writing the TV Drama Series
Dočekalová, Hedvika ; Oukropec, Petr (advisor) ; Kopecký, Čestmír (referee)
Bachelor thesis entitled Writing the TV Drama Series discusses the basic concepts and specifications of the development of TV series in the United States with an emphasis on one-hour drama. The text primarily arises from the books with this theme and lectures, which I completed during the internship. The discussed concepts and specifics are: TV auteur, types of narration, the construction of an episode, the character development and its difference between movies and series, pilot and backdoor pilot, proposal, packaging and the "TV series development Bible". The main goal is to introduce American TV environment which is standardized. The text is a basic introduction to this subject.
