Bohuslav Martinů - Cello Sonata Nr. 1

Bohuslav Martinu's Cello Sonata No. 1 has recently became part of the traditional repertoire of cellist, and because the author of this thesis was deeply impressed by the piece, he decided to study the composition not only a practically but also theoretically (harmonic, formal, historical and analytical), work is divided into four chapters. The first one is devoted to the composer's biography, the second one summarizes and puts all the Martinu sonatas for this instrument into context. Next chapter is a detailed formal analysis of this work and the last is devoted to the interpretatiion analysis of records of three renowned artists.
New music Styles of 20th Century in Relation to contemporary fine Arts

This work focuses on possible relations between music and fine arts in the beginning of the 20th century. It offers possibilities of comparsion of different kinds of art from the aesthetical point of view, it looks for common subject of both the kinds of art, gives specific examples of works which are affected by the other kind vice versa. It tracts the most important styles and trends which arose in the music and fine arts in 20th century and discusses their similarities. The rest of the work is dedicated to specific cases where the both arts meet on one place in one moment - group of fine arts Mánes and the team of composers around it, group of Russian ballets of S. Dhagilev and the phenomena of colour music and its realisation, mainly in the work of Zdeněk Pešánek.
Friedrich Gulda and his cello Concerto

In this Bachelor disertation the autor focuses on the austrian pianist and composer Friedrich Gulda and his Concerto for cello and brassband. The first chapter is about his life and includes biographies of the cellists, whose recordings of this concerto are compared in the last section of this disertation. In the middle part is the formal analysis of the concerto to be found. At the end is the list of the sources and enclosures.
Data Quality Monitoring Methods Applied to Data Processed by Decision Support Systems

The business data could be considered as the raw material for decision-making process, for the development of corporate strategies and overall running of the business. Therefore, adequate attention should be paid to quality of the data. The main goal of the diploma thesis is elaboration of a specific framework for data quality assurance, which combines three theoretical concepts: time series analysis, data screening and data profiling -- business-specific data profiles are monitored by data screening during the data warehouse ETL (extract, transform and load) process and results are afterwards compared with the values predicted by time series analysis. Achievement of this goal is based on the analysis of "data quality" in literature, exact problem definition and selection of appropriate means for its solution. Moreover, the thesis is analysing alternative solutions available on the market and comparing their functionality with the functionality of own framework, as well.
Smetana´s Quartet " From their life"

This Bachelor theses about the Smetana Quartet - " from theit life" is based on forming, and further career development of this world - renowned ensemble. Its goal is to examine the condition under which the quartet became successful and reached its artistic heights. The author of the work, who himself is a member of a string quartet, is not only keen to share the easily accessible information, but focuses on the less common, and from a quartet member´s perspective, more interesting facts. The author also discusses the preparation processes and practicing techniques. Furthermore, the author talks about the insights of the group, the relationships and a character of each individual player. The author interviews one of the members of the Smetana Quartet, violist Milan Skampa to further support his goal in this theses.
Beethoven and violocello

Ludwig van Beethoven enriched the violoncello repertoire. He created the new form of the sonata for piano and violoncello. His variations for violoncello and piano are also notable. All his cello sonatas and variations are innvolved in this thesis. His Sonata No. 5 in D major, op. 102/2 will be analyted in formal way. His Concerto in C, op. 56 for piano, viollin and cello, with orchestra by also analyzed. The role and function of the violoncello in his strings guartets is involved.
Paul Hindemith´s cello sonatas

This thesis is focused on sonatas for violoncello in the work of composer Paul Hindemith. The main goal was summarizing of information , which could be useful for advanced readers and interprets. The opening chapter contains brief biographical review, embedded for better understanding of historical context and characterization of P.Hindemith as an important musical personality. This Chapter is completed by review of his compositions for violoncello in general and some remarks on his technigue of composition. Next four chapters contain description of published Hindemith sonatas in more detail. Information about sonatas origin and its structure are presented. The analysis is completed by many examples of the music stave. The main result of this indeed commented information useful for interpretation. Regarding to different periods, when the sonatas were written, we can see also the development of Hindemith´s composition technigue.
MILOS SADLO - CELLIST AND TEACHER

This bachelor's thesis is focused on the assessment of personality of Milos Sadlo, respected cellist and teacher, but it is not the comprehensive portrait. This work tries to catch the principal points of his career in solo and chamber music playing as well asi in teaching. This thesis is divided into two parts. The first part of the seven main chapters is focused on the artistic development of Milos Sadlo from his childhood through his cello studies with K. P. Sadlo and performing in chamber ensembles to studies on the Master degree with Pablo Casals. The second part is divided into three main chapters and deals with Milos Sadlo's teaching. In the last chapter of this section, there are placed interviews with Sadlo's students.
Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic

This theses is disserting on the orchestra of the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic. In addition to history of this outstanding ensemble, a short treatise on specific sound quality and on a system of auditions for the musicians may be found. Further, one chapter is devoted to daily life of the orchestra and its members.
Bohus Heran - The celllist, pedagogue and person

This magister thesis proposes the presentation of the Czech cellist, pedagogue, music-literature writer, the cello playing propagator and music organizer - Bohus Heran ( 1907 - 1968). Beside Heran´s childhood, time of his studies, the first orchestral contracts, his greatly rich solo concert activities in Czech lands and abroad too, working as a professor at The Prague Conservatory and beeing the academic Prorector of The Janacek ´s Academy of Performing Artz in Brno, this essay is engagend in Heran´s publushing and music-organizating activity as well as his supporting of young musicians. Finally, it is corcerned with the private aspects of Heran´s personality and his holiday in Police nad Metují.
