Influencing the gait pattern in hemiparesis patients after stroke employing some aspects of Bobath concept.
Srp, Martin ; Pochylová, Barbora (advisor) ; Pitrmanová, Věra (referee)
The title of the work: Influencing the gait pattern in hemiparesis patiens after stroke employing some aspects of Bobath concept Abstract: The aim of this work is to objectify the success of the Bobath Concept in treatment of the gait pattern in hemiparetic patients after stroke. Objectification is performed by two standardized tests evaluating the quality and function of the gait - The Timed up and go test and The Rivermead visual gait assessment. In the theoretical part, the author discusses general problems of stroke, definition and general characteristics of the gait, stereotype of pathological gait in hemiparetic patients, the theoretical basis and fundamental principles of The Bobath Concept. The author is also giving examples of toolless for evaluation of the quality and function of the gait, represented by Timed up and go test, six and twelve minute walking test, Rivermead visual gait assessment, Rancho Los Amigos gait analysis form. The practical part describes the methodology of the work, used methods, the main question of this work and the definition of the research sample. It also consists of case reports and therapeutic algorithms of two hemiparetic patients after the stroke. The gait is evaluated before and after the therapy using standardized tests and the main question of this work is...
The usage of Manual physiotherapeutical correction method in the therapy of the radicular syndrome of lower limbs
Rotová, Kristýna ; Muchová, Renáta (advisor) ; Pitrmanová, Věra (referee)
This Bachelor thesis will compare the examination process and kinesiological analysis of two patients diagnosed with root syndrome of the lower limbs using the MFK method. I will examine whether the results in the MFK system confirm the kinesiology analysis, and whether using the MFK physiotherapy method on symptoms associated with root syndrome of the lower extremities can have a positive effect. MFK method is relatively new in the field of physiotherapy. I would therefore like to examine the above mentioned neurological diagnosis to see whether the myokinetic activation examinations with visualization of the motor system as used by the MFK method provides benefits to examination methods used in physiotherapy. Root syndrome is a disease based on structural damage to the spine, spinal canal or intervertebral discs, accompanied by functional subjective and objective manifestations. I have narrowed the selection of subjects to include patients with root syndrome caused by prolapsed intervertebral discs. Pain is the primary symptom, but root syndrome is accompanied by other sensory and motor symptoms. The patient's subjective symptoms significantly quality of life, and so will be an important indicator of the effectiveness of the applied methods.
The use of physiotherapeutical methods and procedures in paraplegic patients. Verticalisation and gait
Beránková, Michaela ; Muchová, Renáta (advisor) ; Pitrmanová, Věra (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the usage of physiotherapeutical methods and procedures in the therapy of patients with paraplegia. In the theoretical part I described shortly the anatomy and the etiology, consequences and clinical picture of the spinal cord injury. I also described the examination procedures and most of all complications that can most often occur after the spinal cord injury. The practical part is aimed at the possibilities of complex physiotherapy in the therapy of patients with spinal injury. Therewith the accent is set on the possibilities of verticalisation and gait in paraplegic patients. I'm detailing not just the verticalisation and gait possibilities, but also all sorts of instruments and gadgets that make this part of physiotherapy easier for patients. In this thesis there is short casuistry of patient with traumatic spine and spinal cord injury on the level of Th10 and Th11.
Back School focused on sitting position
Piňosová, Eva ; Pitrmanová, Věra (advisor) ; Táborská, Silvie (referee)
This paper seeks to contribute to problems of the Back School and tries to apply it to three clients. They were chosen as a model example of people, to whom the Back School should be of assistance. Practical research was focused on "sitting", perhaps the most problematic area, which in times as dominated by sitting as today's, afflicts clients the most. It also contributes to the general application of the Back School and its benefits to clients in their pain caused by inappropriate motion patterns. The theoretical part defines the Back school and explores it's history, aim and methods. It also deals with pathophysiology and etiology of vertebral problems and considers also the influence of psyche and breathing on the locomotor system. Chapters which deal with sitting also inform about the influence of sitting on the organism. Brügger's concept of sitting is discussed and different forms of sitting analyzed. A part of the paper is also concerned with ergonomy of furniture designed for sitting and ergonomic aids. The practical part consists of diagnostics and therapy proposals for each client. Their therapy was designed according to methods discussed in the practical part of this paper. The outcome is a clear positive influence if the Back school on the clients.
Physiological Principle of Neurorehabilitation : Diffuse Cerebral Hypoxia
Altmanová, Jana ; Angerová, Yvona (advisor) ; Pitrmanová, Věra (referee)
OF BACHELOR THESIS Title: Physiological principle of neurorehabilitation Subtitle: Diffuse cerebral hypoxia Abstract of Bachelor thesis: This experimental work deals with the verification of a hypothesis that secondary brain changes induced by hypoxia can be influenced by neurorehabilitation. The aim is to determinate the effect of motor training in combination with erythropoietin and enriched environment on the functional state of a rat brain after hypoxia. The research subjects was 31 laboratory rats who were exposed to an altitude of 8,000 meters above sea level in hypobaric chamber, which induced diffuse cerebral hypoxia. The studied group of rats was subjected to regular motor training and was compared with the control group which underwent the rehabilitation without motor training. The experiment lasted 8 weeks and took place at the Institute of Physiology, First Faculty of Medicine. Results of the study showed improvement in the functional status of rats that were living in an enriched environment, were applied erythropoietin and underwent daily motor training. The increasing incidence of people who survive brain damage, connected with an oxygen deficiency, increases the importance of monitored dependencies between the neurorehabilitation and the functional state of the organism. The...
Options of driving in patients after spinal cord injury
Otta, Jiří ; Angerová, Yvona (advisor) ; Pitrmanová, Věra (referee)
Author's first name and surname: Jiří Otta Field of study: Physiotherapy, Year of matriculation: 2008 Title of bachelor thesis: Options of driving in patients after spinal cord injury Working place: Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of the First Faculty of Medicine and General Teaching Hospital in Prague Bachelors thesis supervisor: prim. MUDr. Yvona Angerová Consultant: Zdena Faltýnková Year of bachelor thesis defence: 2011 ABSTRACT Car driving is in these days a fix part of our lives, a part of daily activities. The point of this thesis is to bring a complex overview of key areas. This thesis evaluates the whole process from the beginning of car driving idea up to the terms needed to its realisation. From therapist position it is important to asses patient's functional kinetic potencial, to set the strategy of transfer into a car, loading and loading out of a wheelchair and driving itself, of course. In detail it is spoken about the types of adjustment of manual steering and possibilities of transfers into the car. Patients are divided into three main groups, according to their grade of disability. Absolutely selfconfindent drivers, drivers with particularly need of assistance and non-drivers. The measure of independence depends on level of the spinal cord lesion. The deciding factor and criteria,...
