Damping of Pressure Pulsations in Elastic Pipes
Panko, Martin ; Pochylý, František (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with numerical simulation of pressure pulsations in elastic pipes. Continuity relation of fluid in elastic pipes, when calculating some damping in pipe material, is derived into practice. Rheological model of such a pipe corresponds to Voigt (Kelvin) model. For analysing dynamic effects in time periods are used numerical methods that deal with flow of compressible fluid: FTCS, Lax-Friedrichs and Lax-Wendroff method. The numerical results are confronted with the experiment. During the experiment simulation the method considers speed of sound in liquid like a function of pressure. This diploma thesis lays partial principles for finding elastic constants for describing dynamic characteristics of elastic pipes by measuring the pressure pulsations.
Dancing liquid - vibration eigenmode shapes of liquids
Urban, Ondřej ; Pochylý, František (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with phenomena connected with vertically oscillating liquid layer, particularly with Faraday waves and liquid atomization. More in detail it deals with the linear mathematical model for vertically oscilating inviscid and incompresible liquids by Benjamin & Ursell (1954). It also presents the appearance of these and other phenomena connected with liquid vibration in practical applications. Furthermore, results of experiments are presented. Their aim was to find some eigenmode shapes using the linear model and also to document some of their properties. Final part is aimed to the design of an experimental device for visualization of vibration eigenmode shapes of liquids.
Hydrodynamic dampers on the principle of magnetic fluid
Přikryl, Matěj ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Pochylý, František (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with damping vibrations emerging due to the movement of a vehicle. The first section provides an overview of contemporary types of dampers with thorough explanation of the principle of hydrodynamic damper. This section also contains simulation of vibrating vehicle equipped with passive damper. Literature research of magnetic fluids and description of magnetoviscous phenomenon is presented in the second part, which freely continues to the topic of magnetorheological (MR) dampers. The final chapter firstly describes current hydrodynamic dampers based on squeeze film (SF) mode of magnetorheological fluid and at the conclusion the author's concept of SF MR damper is submitted.
Principles and types of hydrodynamic valves
Havelka, Milan ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Pochylý, František (advisor)
This thesis deals with characteristics of the most commonly used valves in hydraulic systems. The aim was to create an overview of available features and define their brief characteristics. The emphasis was placed on their function and principles of task performance in a hydraulic circuit. The second part of the thesis is aimed at solving the issue of valves oscillation and subsequent optimization of constants that function as factor dampping.
Design of gas spring
Machů, Tomáš ; Kuchař, Jan (referee) ; Pochylý, František (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with springs, which elastic medium is compressible fluid. The individual types of springs and their usage in the technical practice are presented in this work. Below the work deals with mathematical model and development of new type of gas spring.

This thesis deals with types of water turbines.
Erosive effect of cavitation
Jurečka, Martin ; Hudec, Martin (referee) ; Pochylý, František (advisor)
The goal of the submitted thesis is to acquaint the general public with the technical erosive effects of cavitation and the possibility of limiting them. The next part of the thesis states positive usage of cavitation in different sectors of human operation.
Navier-Stokes equation - the laminar flow solution
Krausová, Hana ; Pochylý, František (referee) ; Fialová, Simona (advisor)
Knowledge of the Navier-Stokes equations solution as the way to the understanding of the real hydrodynamic problems.
Separation of rigid particles from heterogeneous suspension
Prax, Ondřej ; Debreczeni, Ondřej (referee) ; Pochylý, František (advisor)
The bachelor thesis contains a literature search dealing with the separation of solid particles from a heterogenic suspension. The first part is aimed at separation methods. Then, a chapter follows dealing with separation devices, which are used in waste water treatment plants. A more detailed description of the separator used for the separation of sand from waste waters is part of this paper. The described device serving to separate solid particles from a suspension uses the combination of sedimentation and separation methods. To visualize the separator a 3D model in Autodesk Inventor Professional 9 device was used in the presented paper.
