The banking system in the United States.

This thesis deals with financial reform, which was conducted in the United States. The fundamental law of this reform is The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The basic document deals with the legislative changes that relate primarily to changes in institutional arrangements and organization of supervisory activities in the U.S. with a greater emphasis on the banking system. The last part deals with some consequences of the changes to the banking system.
International Development Banks

The bachelor's thesis deals with the international development banks, particularly the Inter-American Development Bank, African Development Bank, Asian Development Bank. Within every bank, the thesis describes transformations in the organization since establishment to the present day. There were a lot of changes in the world economics during the operations of banks. International development banks were able to successfully respond and consolidate their position in the field of international financial institutions. They have become the most important organizations in the region of Latin America and the Caribbean, in Africa and Asia, with strong assistance of developed countries. The first part of this thesis deals with the characteristics of formation, followed by objectives, institutional structure, authorised capital and other resources, offered instruments and the final part relates in general to the current projects and the plans for future.
Change in the rating of european countries in connection with the debt crisis

This paper deals with the rating with a focus on finding the main causes of changes in the rating during the debt crisis in Europe. The first chapter describes the main characters, types of rating and differences between the rating and other evaluation methods. Next part of this paper is about the world-wide rating agencies. In the end I analyze changes in ratings on the specific examples of European countries, on which had the debt crisis the greatest impact.
Large banking groups

The study is mapping various aspects of the present financial system phenomenon - large international financial and banking groups. It shows how the international community tries to resolve a trilemma which is linked to the existence of the large financial groups. The proposed measures on the global as well as on the European Union levels are assessed. The most efficient ones are those aimed in scaling down of these institutions and in a divestment of their activities as they conditioned the provision of the state aid. The study also evaluates proposals to raise capital adequacy and resolution of the large institutions. It mentions their possible negative impact on the banking sectors of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Comparison of the activities of the Fed and the ECB

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the activities of the Federal Reserve System and European Central Bank. It is consistent with the historical development since the FED and ECB came into existence. The aim of the thesis is to compare these two central banks. The first chapter describes the history of the FED, its' organizational structure and the tasks that it is responsible for, as about second part, it deals with the historical development of the European central bank, its' structure and tasks and third chapter focuses directly on a comparison of activities of the FED and ECB, particularly of their monetary policies. This part compare FED and ECB in terms of independence, accountability and transparency. The last chapter tries to analyse the economic developments in the USA and euro area and the answer to the question what the role FED and ECB plays in managing the economy.
Financial analysis of Danone a.s.

The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate financial health and financial situation of the company Danone a.s. within the period 2006 -- 2010. I do not have access to internal materials of the company, so I work as an external analyst. Danone a.s. operates in the Czech Republic since 1991 and specializes in the production of yogurt, cotage cheese, dairy desserts and milk drinks. My work consists of two main parts. The theoretical part describes the nature and purpose of financial analysis, its users and inputs and mainly the methodical apparatus used for explanation of all specific procedures. The analysis described in the theoretical part of the work and based on a set of economic and financial indicators is applied in the practical part. There are also some basic informations about Danone a.s. In conclusion there is a summarization of results obtained through the analysis and evaluation of the financial situation. Important part is also comparison with the industry.
Trading in commodities

The goal of this diploma thesis is to analyze the gold market and provide readers with the necessary information and context having an impact on the price of gold. The thesis consists of three chapters. First one deals in general with the commodity market and introduces the readers to commodity exchange issues such as trading commodities in commodity exchanges, motives of commodity trading as well as the specific characteristics of commodities. Second one concerns the detailed analysis of commodity investment tools that investors might use when they feel like getting an exposure to price movements of commodities. The last chapter gears towards an analysis of the gold market in today's super globalized world and depicts what fundamental factors have an impact on the price of gold. At last, I shall summarize existing pieces of knowledge and cast light on further gold price movements.
The Current Financial Crisis and Its Impact on International Trade

The thesis is aimed at explanation of the factors that led to the creation of the current financial crisis in their mutual context. Emphasis is placed on the way of providing mortgages in the USA, policy of FED and credit derivatives. The impacts of the crisis on banking, stock and commodity markets, building industry and automotive industry are discussed as important determinants of international trade. It is shortly mentioned how countries like Germany, China or Czech Republic dealt with the crisis. The final part of the thesis is devoted to the impacts of the crisis on international trade, these impacts result from the issues that are described in the first two parts. Discussed are the commodity and territorial structures of the international trade during the years of crisis. Also the impacts on the foreign trade of the Czech Republic are stressed.
