Fukuzawa Yukichi as a model intellectual of the Meiji period

Ve své práci se věnuji japonskému mysliteli 19.století Fukuzawovi Jukičimu. Uvádím jeho základní životopis a rozbor doby, ve které žil, jelikož právě ta zásadně ovlivnila jeho tvorbu. Dále se pak věnuji jeho konkrétním myšlenkám a dílům, hlavně tedy podpoře vzdělávání a samostatnosti. Rozebírám také jeho vztah k ostatním myslitelům té doby, především jeho účast v názorově spřízněné skupině Meirokuša.

V této práci jsem se zabýval vývojem, kterým politické strany v Japonsku prošly, cíle které si stanovily a za jakých podmínek působily. Konkrétně změny jejich postavení, významu a chování v rámci systému vytvořeném Ústavou Meidži. Společně s tím jsem se pokusil postihnout demokratizační změny, kterými japonská společnost ve svém moderním předválečném období prošla.

Na tomto místě bych ráda poděkovala paní docentce Zdence Švarcové z katedry 4 japonských studií za vstřícné vedení diplomové práce, za plno podnětných připomínek a návrhů. Dále jsem zavázána panu profesoru Asadovi Tóruovi z univerzity Očanomizu, který mi laskavě pomohl s koncepcí práce a doporučil některé potřebné prameny. Neskonale vděčná za pomoc jsem i doktorandce Tamuře Júko ze stejné univerzity, která mě trpělivě učila vyhledávat literaturu a poskytla plno cenných rad pro četbu starých textů, a panu profesoru Okazakimu Masamičimu z univerzity Iwate, který mi věnoval kopie vlastnoručně nahraných videokazet se soubornými verzemi televizních seriálů a filmů s historickou tématikou. V neposlední řadě bych ráda vyjádřila vděk svým přátelům, kteří měli pochopení pro to, že jsem na ně ne vždy měla čas, a potom své rodině, která mi po návratu do Čech vytvořila pro dokončení práce dokonalé zázemí.

Social network of Japanese elderly

V současné době je problém stárnutí společnosti skloňován ve všech pádech jak v Japonsku, tak i Evropě či Spojených státech. Do popředí se však často dostávají palčivé ekonomické otázky v čele s reformou penzijního systému či stále napjatějším rozpočtem zdravotního pojištění. My se však na následujících stránkách zaměříme na seniory samotné, přičemž vědomě do určité míry pomineme fyzické aspekty stárnutí a zaměříme se na stránku sociálně psychologickou. Svou pozornost nasměrujeme na sociální síť japonských seniorů; pokusíme se o analýzu souboru lidských vztahů, které japonské seniory obklopují. Dostatek prostoru budeme věnovat i sociálním rolím, které do značné míry velikost a kvalitu sociální sítě ovlivňují, a nezapomeneme na sociální pozici seniorů v rámci rodiny či komunity. Chceme tak alespoň částečně přispět k vytvoření uceleného obrazu stárnoucího Japonska, kde podíl obyvatel starších 65 let roste mimořádně rychle a zásadně tak mění strukturu celé společnosti. Diplomovou práci jsme rozčlenili do tří základních bloků. V úvodu se budeme zabývat demografickým vývojem Japonska, srovnáme ho se stavem v Evropě a nabídneme i výhled do budoucna. Dále si ve stručnosti představíme japonský penzijní systém a pojištění sociální péče. V závěru první kapitoly se pak zmíníme o současných trendech v sociální péči a...

The process of compilation and accepting of the civil code during the Meiji period

This work concerns itselť with o ne oť the aspects oť the modernization oť Japan during the Meiji Era (1868-1912), the establishment oť a Civil Code based on western lega! princip les, in a broad context oť the historical and socio-political situation of the said period. First, it explores the state oť lega! knowledge in Japan at the end of the previous historical period, the Tokugawa Era. As a result of the development during the centuries prior to that, it may be said that the Japanese view oť law became to be such that the law was overshadowed by the traditional pattern oť a rigid social structure, preferring over law the mutual relations among the people living in such a system. Being ťorced to cancel her isolation policy by an extensive outside pressure ťrom the worlďs powers, Japan starts to strive for a general modernization. The s o called U nequal treaties established in the last years of the rule oť the Tokugawa shogunate between Japan and several countries set it to an inferior position, and this situation continued unchanged in the ťollowing Meiji period. Role of mass media in shaping the collective memory in contemporary Japan

The thesis is focused on Japanese media and especially on their role in the Japanese society. Their impact is noticeable in the way of shaping the national collective memory. One of the unsolved issues of Japan's past, which still resonates in the Japanese society, is the issue of the former comfort women. From the beginning of the 1990s the thus far neglected issue has been given more media attention, which makes it an ideal study case for the influence of media on shaping the collective memory of a nation. With the help of one media that has been following the plight of the former comfort women incessantly till now, the Asahi Shinbun, the thesis documents the method, by which the issue has been dealt with, and the response of the public to the articles of this daily newspaper, which it has created. As the topic has been being discussed for over thirty years, the analysis of the articles is concentrated on two key periods: 1991-1997 and 2010-2014. Using Susan Pharr's model of the types of roles of mass media, the thesis seeks to learn what role the Asahi Shinbun plays in this issue and whether anything has changed in the last thirty years. The Concept of Pollution Kegare in Japan at the Turn of 16th and 17th Century

The major objective of this master thesis, is to describe the process of forming and development of the social groups connected with the concept of ritual pollution kegare in Japan at the turn of 16th century. The main questions are: In which direction did the development of these groups tend to go from the outset of the Japanese Middle Ages? Did the policies of the unifiers of Japan cause any disruptions to this development, and if so, what was the new direction? Was creation of the Edo outcaste order also motivated by an effort to restrict access to strategical commodities, or was it only a side effect of individual edicts and restrictions? To answer these questions I used two approaches. At first I diachronically described the development of groups connected with the concept of ritual pollution from the ancient times, and to this data I applied Mary Douglas's grid and group theory. Results of this show that during the time period in question development of groups of eta tanners was significantly accelerated, while the status of the non-persons groups of hinin was stagnating, or regressing.
