Prachatice since second world war to "velvet" revolution. Building development
STAŇKOVÁ, Barbora
The dissertation deals with building development of the town of Prachatice in second half of the twentieth century. In the initial chapters briefly outlines the development of the town from its foundation to the mid of the twentieth century and describes the changes in architecture and civil engineering after the communist party took control over the country in 1948. The core of the dissertation is introduced in following chapters in which the author aims to the building development of the town in second half of the twentieth century and the demolition works which done for the purpose of building new administrative and residential houses. The work also deals with several particular buildings in Prachatice and public art staged during socialist normalization era. The ending of the work is dedicated to the impact of socialistic urbanization on present-day town.
Refractometric study of very low density lipoprotein (LDL)
Šinglárová, Simona ; Pacáková, Věra (advisor) ; Staňková, Barbora (referee)
Knowledge of the chemical composition of lipoproteins has a broad meaning. In determining lipoprotein particle size fractions is necessary to preliminary separation by ultracentrifugation in density solutions. Usually the determination is performed by electrophoretic or gel filtration with a suitable detection, which distorts the results. A better solution offers a new detector, called Light Scattering Detector, which detects the bend of laser beam on molecules or particles in solution. To calculate the required particle size dependence on the concentration of the refractive index dn / dc. Concentration is determined gravimetrically and refractive indices by refractometric method. Dependence suits polynomial function. If it correlates with the chemical composition of VLDL lipoprotein can be determined by studying a larger number of samples.
English cleft sentence "it is/was...that" and its Czech counterparts
Staňková, Barbora ; Brůhová, Gabriela (advisor) ; Šaldová, Pavlína (referee)
The subject of the present thesis is the analysis of English cleft sentence it is/was…that and its Czech translation counterparts. The aim of the thesis is to define and describe the category of cleft sentence and also to study the ways by which the English cleft sentences are translated into Czech. The cleft construction enables the speaker to focus on any clause element except for the predicate and subject complement. The basic function of the cleft sentence is to highlight the rheme which is placed in contrast to the other thematic elements. The present thesis consists of two main parts, the theoretical part and the analysis which is carried out on 100 English cleft sentences and their Czech translation equivalents, excerpted from the InterCorp, parallel English-Czech corpora provided through the web pages of the Czech National Corpora.
Refractometric study of low density lipoprotein (LDL)
Pultarová, Kamila ; Tvrzická, Eva (advisor) ; Staňková, Barbora (referee)
Raised concentrations of low density lipoproteins in blood plasma are characteristic for increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. At present, distribution of LDL particle size is the topic of interest; small dense LDL represent the highest risk. The aim of our study was the dependence of refractometric index on particle concentration; this dependence is necessary for size determination by the method of size exclusion chromatography with laser light scattering detection. Lipoproteins LDL were separated by ultracentrifugation and concentration dependences were determined refractometrically. Linear and exponential dependences were the most convenient of all functions tested. Dependence dn/dc is characteristic for each biological sample and should be determined individually.
Functionalism and the villa architecture on the beginning of the 1930´s in South Bohemia
STAŇKOVÁ, Barbora
This diploma thesis focuses on particular villas built in South Bohemian region at the beginning of the 20th century. The introductory chapters of this thesis explain the term "villa" and also briefly describe this specific type of construction. Follows the chapter summarising the most important architectural styles of the 20th century which is followed by the chapter concerning origin and development of functionalism both in the Czech Republic and in the rest of the world. The sixth chapter includes the core of this thesis by analysing particular South Bohemian villas. At this placethe author is focusing on personalities of the builders, architects hand in hand with a description of the original appearance of the buildings and their current state. The text of this thesis is for illustration amended by number of picture attachements.
Town halls in Prachatice
STAŇKOVÁ, Barbora
The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of both town halls in Prachatice. At first The Old Town Hall is introduced. The author is concentrating on circumstances about the town hall formation and especially on its front facade decoration. Appropriate attention is also placed on the known and newly discovered graphical patterns, according to which the motives on The Old Town Hall were created. A chapter regarding the possible author of the building is also included. Barbora Staňková is subsequently concentrating on The New Town Hall, she is giving us a description of this edifice and she is explaining duplication of both town halls. The thesis is ended with comparison of both buildings.
