Mapping and evaluation of abandoned areas in the landscape: A case study from the area of Černokostelecko.
Boďová, Michaela ; Lipský, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Kukla, Pavel (referee)
The objective of this study is to map, classify and evaluate abandoned areas which are in the southern part of Černokostelecko. It begins with an examination of theories relating to abandoned land and landscape change. The study of abandoned land is rarely included in scientific studies. In the next part, applied part, were mapped coverage of wood species, former use, dominant plants and lenght of abandonment. The abandoned areas were classified and distributed according to their character. It was focused on floodplains of Jevanský and Vlkančický stream. It was found out that high proportion of abandoned areas are situated in floodplains. Most of these areas were formerly in use as pastures or meadows. The lenght of abandonment differs, but the majority date from after 1990, co-inciding with the instance of great economic and political change. Abandoned areas in floodplains has relatively low coverage of the wood species, whereas in areas outside floodplains, coverage of the wood species is considerably higher and it is probable that areas areas outside of floodplains will in future, be covered by forest. Typology of land cover changes and landscape structure in the post-communist countries of the Central Europe
Kuna, Petr ; Romportl, Dušan (advisor) ; Lipský, Zdeněk (referee)
Study of landscape change is a subject of interest for a wide range of professional work both in the Czech republic and abroad. This thesis therefore does not give a simple description of the changes in the landscape, but rather focuses on the further synthesis of these findings and the subsequent creation of a typology of land cover changes and their impacts on landscape structure in the region of interest, including also its heterogeneity. It is therefore a process of allocated areas that formed and still form the same processes that lead to homogenization of the landscape, as opposed to its fragmentation. Area of interest is so-called Visegrad Group of countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland). There are four countries of the former Eastern bloc in Central Europe, which shared some relatively similar initial conditions for the further development of the landscape after the "release" of the regime change in 1989. The landscape began to develop in different way. Each country began a different way to approach a completely different landscape interfering in its development. Review starts with describing landscape development in the period up to 1989, when it was not too taken of the ecological functions and the importance of the landscape. This period was characterized by the...

Development of cultural landscape in the western part of the České středohoří Mts.
Kyselka, Jan ; Lipský, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Skaloš, Jan (referee)
The main aim of this thesis is assessment of land use changes from half of the 19th century to present in the western part of the České středohoří Mts. Changes in land use categories proportion, development of ecological stability of landscape, development of land use diversity and influence of physical-geographic conditions on land use changes were assessed. The second aim is assessment of abandoned land occurrence in the area. All abandoned lands were mapped and then relationship between abandoned lands occurrence and physical-geographic conditions was assessed. Key words: landscape development, land use, abandoned lands, old maps, České středohoří Mts.
Changes of landscape structures of the "Lost Landscapes"
Švorcová, Katrin ; Romportl, Dušan (advisor) ; Lipský, Zdeněk (referee)
Landscape structure is the outcome of the interaction between landscape and society, which create its appearance and the arrangement of landscape elements in space and time. This thesis is dedicated to change in landscape structure in the project "Heritage of the lost landscapes", which is being handled by a team from the Faculty of Science of Charles University. The theoretical part serves as a clear explanation of the concepts related to the landscape structure, which are subsequently mentioned in the analytical part. The analysis section is devoted to the methodology of the work, where data provided by the leader of the work were used for their harmonisation and analysis. Two time periods were compared to characterise changes in landscape structure: the stable cadastre and the present. Using the Patch Analyst tool, landscape metrics were calculated from the land use and land cover, which were consequently subjected to cluster analysis. To compare the changes in landscape structure, both the cluster analysis and the natural conditions are evaluated, where physicogeographic variables have been selected for typology of model territories based on natural conditions. As a result of the typology of model territories based on changes in landscape structure, 5 clusters have been created to represent the...
Changes of landscape structure and scattered greenery in the Jistebnicko region
Štěpán, Jan ; Lipský, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Romportl, Dušan (referee)
The landscape has been profoundly affected by human activity for centuries and the consequences of this interference have been growing in scale with the rising demands of modern society. The processes leading to the landscape's homogeneity, or, on the other hand, its fragmentation, have been focus of many studies which then allow us to understand how the landscape functions in its entirety and are also significant for the process of spatial planning on the local level. The aim of this theses is to assess the changes done to land cover an landscape's (micro)structure with special focus on scattered greenery (non-forest woody vegetation), as well as to examine how these changes have been mapped into the cadastral municipality of Cunkov, located in the Jistebnická vrchovina highlands, throughout the last 180 years. It is then possible to analyze these changes using the GIS and historical materials from three time periods which were beforehand selected - the years 1840, 1953 and 2019. Microstructure of the landscape plays an essential role in landscape's dynamics and for its ecologic stability.
Changes in the distribution of invasive neophytes in the riparan vegetation of the Berounka river
Randová, Nela ; Matějček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Lipský, Zdeněk (referee)
Riparian vegetation along the water courses is one of the places that are highly vulnerable to the spread of invasive alien plants. Water corridors allow their easy and rapid spread to new area. The diploma thesis occupies with changes in the distribution of the invasive neophytes in the riparian vegetation of the Berounka river during the years 2015-2018. The objective of this study was to find out how changes in the course of each year will be reflected and whether a certain trend of population development can be traced. In connection with this, the thesis occupies with the possible influence of extremely dry years 2015 and 2018 on the occurrence of invasive neophytes. Field research took place on the banks of the Berounka river from the village of Čilá near Skryje to the confluence of the Berounka and Vltava river in Prague-Lahovice during the summer months in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. The riparian vegetation was divided into 500 ± 150 m long segments. There were 90 segments where the occurrence and abundance of 17 invasive neophytes were mapped. In total, occurrence of 14 taxons was registered. The most frequent taxons were Robinia pseudacacia, Impatiens glandulifera and Solidago sp. in the Berounka riverbank vegetation. The highest number of specimen was recorded for invasive neophyte...
