The facilitation of inhibition of the muscles of the torso and lower extremities using various types of footwear - a polyEMG study
Šmahelová, Kateřina ; Lepšíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Holubcová, Zuzana (referee)
Diploma thesis "Facilitation and inhibition of trunk and lower extremity muscles using different types of shoes -surface polyEMG assessment" describes basic knowledge about human gait. The work summarizes important facts about gait development, physiological pattems and about impact of shoe types on kinematics and muscle activity during walking. The aim of the study was to analyze activity of eight muscles of trunk and of lower extremities and also to assess basíc temporal-spatial characteristics of gait using surface poly-EMG and forceplate during barefoot gait and while walking in different types of shoes. The analysis was carried out in a sample of 18 young healthy women during level walking. Outcomes indicate that every tested pair of shoes changes temporal-spatial characteristic as well as activity of trunk and lower extremities muscles compared to barefoot gait. In some cases outcomes showed statistically significant difference. According to our conc1usions cause of it was especially the weight of shoes and the instability of ankle and foot while walking in high heels, toe post sandals and "tapky". Examination of gait in patients whit idiopathic scoliosis. Objectification using treadmill
Švábková, Anna ; Lepšíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Černý, Pavel (referee)
This master thesis concerns gait in patients with idiopathic scoliosis. Idiopathic scoliosis constitutes about 80 % of all scoliosis cases and its adolescent type is the most common form of spine deformity in the child population. The theoretical part outlines existing knowledge on this medical condition and its treatment, focusing on conservative therapy by corrective spinal orthoses. It further describes the physiological stereotype of gait and differences observed in patients with idiopathic scoliosis. It also discusses the effect exerted on bipedal locomotion by corrective spinal orthoses. The aim of the practical part is to examine whether there is a relationship between the severity of the main spinal curvature in subjects with scoliosis and the degree of asymmetry between their lower limbs for selected parameters of gait. Since this part concerns gait both without and with bracing, it can also analyse the impact of corrective spinal orthoses on the degree of the given asymmetries. The selected parameters of gait are ascertained by the method of dynamic plantography using a Zebris FDM- T System device. The research sample consists of 14 subjects (12 girls and 2 boys) between the age of 9 and 17 years with idiopathic scoliosis who receive conservative treatment including bracing. The results...
Professional influence on somatognostic functions
Pelánová, Petra ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Lepšíková, Magdaléna (referee)
Objectives: This diploma thesis briefly summarizes the current knowledge about the neurophysiological and functional somatosensory influence of sedentary and non-sedentary occupations on the individual. The experimental part compares the quality of somatognostic functions in cohorts with sedentary occupations (SO) versus non-sedentary occupations (NSO). The NSO group positions and movements often alternate and static positions are not held for long periods. Methods: Both groups had the same number of probands. Ore-emptive questionnaires provided anamnestic data for each individual. Afterwards, somatosensory functions were assessed using six selected tests; 2 tests for upper extremity proprioception (UEP), 2 tests for lower extremity proprioception (LEP) and 2 tests for body size perception. Results: There was a significant difference in the results of the four tests measuring quality of proprioception of the upper and lower extremities. The NSO group showed more accurate results. In the UEP test measured in sitting posture, there was an average deviation 4,4ř in the SO group, and 3,1ř in the NSO group (p = 0,021). In the UEP test measured in standing posture, there was an average deviation 4.0 cm in the SO group, and 3,0 cm in the NSO group (p = 0.025). In the LEP test measured in standing posture,...

Bibliographic identification KUČEROVÁ, Klára. Long-term monitoring of impact of competitive swimming in statics and dynamics of the spine. Prague: Charles University, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, 2017, 59 p. Supervisor of the bachelor's thesis Mgr. Magdaléna Lepšíková. Abstract Swimming is a physical activity that is often recommended by physicians as compensatory activity. It is symmetrical sport which takes place in aquatic environment. This sport has many benefits and can be done at any age. Our goal was to find out if competitive swimming had an effect on statics and dynamics of the spine. To measure static sagittal parameters we used DIER Formetric III 4D. Dynamic tests were measured by spinal development tests. The trunk stabilization was detected using Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) concepts. We observed 11 children aged 11 - 12. These children were examined twice in the bachelor thesis, first one before the start of racing swimming and second one after 10 months. In our diploma thesis, these children were examined again after 3 years of racing swimming. We also watched a set of 11 adult swimmers. We compared their results with standards. After three years of racing swimming in children, there was no statistically significant change in size of...
Stance and gait analysis using ZEBRIS FDM-T System in patients with scoliosis
Bulánová, Kateřina ; Lepšíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Opálková, Michaela (referee)
The thesis deals with the issue of walking and standing in patients with a scoliosis. The theoretical part of this thesis summarizes current knowledge of scoliosis, its classification, etiology, pathogenesis and risk factors of the curve progression. Then the most often changes of the stand and gait stereotype and their main causes are discussed. Goal of the practical part was to identify the difference between particular parameters of gait in an experimental group of patients with scoliosis and a control group of healthy individuals. The examination was performed via the dynamic plantography method using the Zebris FDM-T System. 19 probands with scoliosis aged 8 - 19 and a control group of 19 orthopedically healthy patients in a corresponding age distribution have been selected for the study. The results did not provide any statistically significant difference on a significance level p=0,05. However, there were clear differences between the groups referring to bigger asymmetries in stance and gait stereotype in the scoliosis patients group. Since even in a scientific literature there is a difference in opinion on this issue, more research might be necessary for the exact evaluation of the influence of scoliosis on the stance and gait stereotype.
Comparison of the size of scoliosis curve in patients with idiopathic scoliosis from x-ray picture and rasterstereography record
Bilinkiewiczová, Eva ; Lepšíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Doubková, Lucie (referee)
Scoliosis is defined as a patological curvature of spinal cord of more than 10ř in frontal plane which is combined with rotation of vertebral bodies and also with disruption of fyziological curvatures in sagittal plane. Idiopathic scoliosis is the most frequent type of this diagnosis. The thesis deals with overal issue of this disease, theories of etiology, incidence, classification, types of examination, possibilities of new testing and therapy. The practical part describes rasterstereographic DIERS Formetric III 4D testing and coparison with RTG examination. The study was carried out with 17 girls and 1 boy with idiopathic scoliosis 11 - 46ř at the age of 11 - 17 years. Results of this testing were statistically analysed. Best results were found out in measurements by automatically set range for a group of patients with Cobb angle ≤ 25ř - for 95% differences the limits of correspondance were ± 4ř, the average error was 0,3ř. For group of all patients the limits of correspondance were ± 14ř, the average error was 1,5ř. The results confirmed, that with an increase of Cobb ange a bigger error and systematic error appears.
The developmental coordination disorder/developmental dyspraxia in patients with the idiopathic scoliosis - A Pilot Study
Mašíková, Darina ; Lepšíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Vránová, Hana (referee)
The thesis is foccused on the problematics of the developmental coordination disorder and its presence within the patiens with the idiopathic scoliosis. The theoretical part deals with the explanation of the terms of developmental coordination disorder, sensory integration and idiopathic scoliosis. The experimental part looks for the connection among the idiopathic scoliosis and the dvelopmental dyspraxia. Thirty patients took part in it. Eighteen of them were patiens with the idiopathic scoliosis, these were divided into two groups according to the age. The first group at the age of 7 to 10 years counted four patiens, the other group from 11 to 16 years contained fourteen patiens. The controll group involved twelve children from the fifth class of the common primary school. The children were tested by the standardized Movement Assessment Battery for Children 2 (MABC-2). Furthermore the measurement was completed by two questionnaires for parents. In the DCDQ'07 they assessed the motor abilities of their child compared to children of the same age and gender. The other questionnaire was aimed at closer information obout the pregnancy, development of the child, presence of any disease or impairment, etc. The difference between motor skills of children with the idiopathic scoliosis and the controll group in...

Author's first name and surname: Bc. Veronika Michálková Title of the diploma thesis: The Influence of Manual Centration Methods of the Shoulder Joint on Muscles Action around the Shoulder Girdle -EMG analysis Department: Klinika rehabilitace a tělovýchovného lékařství FN Motol Supervisor: Mgr. Radka Crhonková The year of presentation: 2013 Abstract: The thesis deals with the influence of therapy methods by Čapová on muscles action around the shoulder girdle. The surface electromyography has been set as the method of the analysis. Electromyography of 11 muscles of the shoulder girdle has been performed before and after the manual centring in 14 healthy patients while lying on the back as well as lying down and doing chosen motion exercises. The measurements in twelve people in both positions have been carried out with a pause of one week. One patient has been measured only in the prone position and one in the supine position. The muscles action before and after the centration has been evaluated according to Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Also the differences of the measurement have been compared and the sequence of the muscles involved into the action has been analysed. The relationship between the measured phenomena cannot be rejected, although the null hypothesis has been proven. Several statistically...
