Váchová, Aneta ; Jančík, Jiří (advisor) ; Listíková, Renáta (referee)
Czech-French contrastive lexicological commentary on legal texts of inheritance law The subject of this thesis is a Czech French contrastive lexicological commentary on selected legal texts in the field of inheritance law in legal systems of the Czech Republic and France. In three main chapters, the thesis analyses the lexical specifics of the French legal language - in contrast to the Czech legal language. Within these chapters, it was firstly necessary to define and specify the legal language, outline the various linguistic devices used and, last but not least, their application in the translation of legal texts. The first chapter deals in more detail with the legal language in general - its determination in the context of French and Czech legislation, the development of technical vocabulary, as well as the analysis of the individual requirements placed on the legislator when formulating legal texts. The second chapter is then devoted to specific paradigmatic meaning relations in legal language, in particular relations that violate the semiotic-logical relation between a form and a meaning (synonymy, polysemy), oppositeness, hyperonymy and hyponymy. Those relations are firstly explained and shown on examples from Czech and French inheritance law and then compared with the common language....

It will be shown how the development of this system affected the development of texts and how it influenced authors and book printing. In the next part, I will specify its modern development and describe some specific elements that arose in it, especially thanks to the Internet. In the last part, punctuation marks (for example period, comma, question mark) will be introduced. In this section, the correct use of these signs, their use in the French language and the specific way in which they are written will be specified.

Brožová, Wanda ; Suková Vychopňová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Jančík, Jiří (referee)
1 ABSTRACT The bachelor thesis " Intonation of a French sentence with enumeration by Czech speakers - a contrastive study" describes the issue of selected prosodic phenomena of these two languages with a closer focus on intonation. The theoretical part introduces phonetics and phonology in general and subsequently presents the Czech and French phonetic systems - their segmental and suprasegmental levels. This bachelor thesis therefore describes the syllabic system and the basic prosodic elements of both languages studied. Among the basic prosodic phenomena, it describes the syllable, rhythm, rhythmic group, accent, and intonation. The practical part focuses on the analysis of intonation of Czech speakers in a French sentence with enumeration. A recording of a native speaker and a recording from the textbook (from which the sentence with enumeration was used for the recordings) are also analysed for comparison. The aim of the practical part was to find out whether native Czech speakers who speak French would follow the intonation of their native language for the given type of sentence or whether they would be proficient enough to use the intonation typical of the French language for a declarative sentence with enumeration. Through contrastive comparison and analysis using the program Praat, it was found that...
The cultural and natural heritage of Île de Ré
Jakubíčková, Julie ; Jančík, Jiří (advisor) ; Suková Vychopňová, Kateřina (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the cultural and natural heritage of the French island Île de Ré. The first part of the thesis is theoretical, and it opens with the geographical and climatic introduction of the island. Consequently, the genesis of human activity on the island is being analysed with the main focus on agricultural traditions such as winemaking, oyster farming, and salt extraction. These traditions have been passed down through generations for centuries, and their development, the tools required for work, and the challenges faced by farmers are presented. Because these activities are carried out in a highly biodiverse area, attention is also paid to the flora that thrives in salt water and the fauna, especially the large number of birds that find refuge in the abundant salt marshes. Next, the thesis focuses on a crucial part of the local economic profit: tourism. Tourism on the Île de Ré was significantly on the rise after the end of the Second World War, and in 1988, it was further strengthened due to the construction of a bridge connecting the island to the mainland in La Rochelle. In the next part of the theoretical work, space is devoted to the history of Île de Ré and emblematic places on the island, for example, the historical fortification of Vauban or the Abbaye des...
Non-finite clauses (infinitive, gerund, present participle) and speech
Černá, Daniela ; Müllerová, Eva (advisor) ; Jančík, Jiří (referee)
The aim of the thesis "Non-finite clauses (infinitive, gerund, present participle) and speech" is to describe the occurence and the use of the non-finite clauses in spoken French. The situation of the non-finite clauses in speech is established by means of the analysis of the essay "Usage du gérondif et du participe présent en francais parlé et écrit : étude comparée basée sur corpus" and the inquiry. Another aim is to suggest various expressions that could replace the non-finite clauses. These expressions result from the inquiry that was made with only natives speakers responding. We also try to consider the influence of different aspects such as age, profession, nationality on the usage of the the non-finite clauses. The conclusions that we come to in the thesis should enlighten the situation of the non-finite clauses infinitive, gerund, present participle in spontaneous speech and they could also serve as a tool for French teachers in the form of a review of the present state of the issue in spoken French.
