Vodičková, Kateřina ; Ventura, Václav (advisor) ; Hrdlička, Jaroslav (referee)
The writer in his work deals with the question, if the ideals of Catholic monasticism were preserved also in the Protestant movements and Churches. Theoretical backgrounds for this research were the thoughts of Martin Luther, who wrote several papers on the topic of monasticism. Work is introduced with historical overview of the beginnings of Christian monasticism and a brief biography of Martin Luther to reach better understanding of his thought background. Consecutively begins the analysis of the Luthers works and other theological and historical writings, whose purpose is to bring information about the reflection of Luthers standpoints in later Protestantism. Kotrlý, Karel ; Hrdlička, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Lášek, Jan Blahoslav (referee)
This work can be divided to the two main themes which the first one has a function of introduction this for Central Europe a little exotic theme. First chapters treat of History of England in the Late Middle Ages. I want to present this historical period. from reign of Edward I. to Henry Tudor's victory at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485 in its complexity. There is exposition of short political history and every day life of inhabitants in the late medieval England. There is also short exposition of churches history in England and intellectual life and its consequences for spirituality of ordinary men. The main part of the work English Mysticism in the Late Middle Ages I tried to centralize into the historical and theological exposition of the lives and writings of some representative English mystices like Richard Rolle of Hampolle, Walter Hilton and anonymous author of Cloud of Unknowing, as objective as possible presenting the facts which I found in the literature. In the final chapters I dealt with female mysticism in this period. England made the two great female mystics Julian of Norwich who spent her life like anchoress and her Showings of Divine Love is often studied book in nowadays and the pilgrim Margery Kempe with her highly passionate spirituality.
Liberalism
Kružíková, Eva ; Hrdlička, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Lášek, Jan Blahoslav (referee)
Unstoppable headway of human kind had to face prejudices and control of those in power for centuries. Without any doubt it is incredible that there were individuals to extend outer limits of human wisdom although they were punished for their deeds afterwards. Renaissance brought massive progress of civic society. Not only Church and monasteries were wisdom-holders any more. Fruits of renaissance were given to a large number of people as the society started to loosen both on the field of politics and religion. Nevertheless feudal system of government that restrained scholarship and education from serfs was not overcame yet. ln that respect England was the first to leave old ways of thinking behind (as many times after) and overtook the rest of Europe. That was the reason for choosing England in that age to be a subject of my thesis. This age is represented by reasonable politics which I find very familiar to me. Inner politics based on Empirism and outer in order to sustain power balance in Europe.

This is followed by depiction of Jesuit educational events in the period from 1926 to 1930, in particular in the territory of today's Czech Republic. My goal was to point out how Jesuits educated in the period from 1926 to 1930 and how could eventually some of their best educational strategies be applied today, not only in the Catholic Church.
