Boháč, Petr ; Borák, Libor (referee) ; Marcián, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the stress-strain analysis of the influence of various total knee endoprosthesis on the periprosthetic bone tissue of the tibia. The first part of the thesis describes the problem situation and the research study related to the issue. The second part of the thesis describes the basic knowledge suitable for understanding the issues addressed. The third part of the thesis describes in detail the process of creating computational models, which should make the used methodology reproducible for possible further studies. The next part of the work analyses and presents the results of computational modelling using the finite element method. Based on the Frost hypothesis, the effects of various total knee endoprosthesis on the periprosthetic tibial bone tissue at a specified maximum load appearing in the walking cycle are evaluated and compared. At the end of the thesis, the possible consequences of this analysis are mentioned.

In practical part of this thesis, there are described measurement procedure, measurement results, 3D geometry modelling procedure by reconstruction micro-CT images and determination of mechanical properties solved by computational modeling using FEM. Five speciments are analyse predominantly from os occipitale. On first specimen is analyzed influence of thresholding settings.
Stress-strain analysis of skull implant using analytical and numerical solution methods
Sehnal, Dominik ; Borák, Libor (referee) ; Marcián, Petr (advisor)
This thesis focuses on stress-strain analysis of cranial implant. The research of literature available dealing with the problems of cranium implants and the solution of the stress analysis is incorporated. Furthermore, the basic information about an approach to the design and fabrication of medical implants is included. Subsequently, two ways of possible solution to the method of stress-strain analysis on an computational model of cranium (partially spherical shell) are introduced. These are analytical and numerical solution by using the finite element method in the Ansys programme. The calculated solutions of a particular type of task about deformation and stress are compared and evaluated with the solution acquired from the high level computational model of cranium with shaped irregular implant applied.
Research study of total endoprosthesis of temporomandibular joint
Horňas, Jan ; Borák, Libor (referee) ; Marcián, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with total joint replacements (TJR) applied for replacement of temporomandibular joint (TMJ). In the thesis, research study of solutions system is done for anatomy of TMJ, mandible and masticatory muscles. Main producers and ma-terials for manufacturing TJR is mentioned furthermore. Finally, stress strain analysis for TJR is done by computing modeling using finite element method on the basis of re-search study.

Biomechanical Study of Human Mandible in Physiological State
Borák, Libor ; Horyl, Petr (referee) ; Bartáková, Sonia (referee) ; Janíček, Přemysl (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
This study deals with the mechanical aspects of human mandible in physiological state during the occlusion. The work is focused on evaluation of stress-strain conditions of bone tissue. The emphasis is paid to the interaction of teeth with the bone. In addition, contact pres-sures in temporomandibular joints during various loading conditions were determined. The analysis of material model of some parts of the system regarding their modelling-level is pre-sented as well. The problem concerning the evaluation of stress-strain states is solved by computational simulation using the finite element method. The presented work is a detailed analysis of the parts of the masticatory system and a thorough description of their modelling is presented. Special focus is paid to modelling of cancellous bone as well as of periodontal tissue which mediates the interaction between a tooth and the alveolar bone. Three-dimensional geometry of the mandible and all its teeth has been obtained by using the digitizing of real objects, namely by using of three-dimensional optical scanner. Three various modelling levels of the material of periodontium are assessed: Linear iso-tropic model, bilinear isotropic model and linear orthotropic model. Characteristics of these models are analyzed and especially nine new constants describing orthotropic model (which is almost absent in the literature) are proposed. Two-dimensional models are used for analysis of differencies in mechanical response of cancellous bone to the tooth loading. Two cases are considered: Cancellous bone as a ho-mogenous continuous model on one hand and with detailed trabeculous architecture model on the other. Computational model is divided into four basic cases varying in level of masticatory appa-ratus geometry: A – 2D geometry of bone; B – 3D geometry of bone segment with one tooth through three teeth; C – 3D geometry of whole mandible with the only tooth; D – 3D geome-try of whole mandible with all teeth. All basic cases are further researched in different varia-tions for different material models etc.

Stress-strain analysis of skull implant
Material development of dental implants
Legerský, Radek ; Borák, Libor (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
The study deals with the development of materials currently used in the manufacture of dental implants. Special attention is paid to chemical composition, mechanical properties and biocompatibility of these materials. The aim and result of the thesis is creation of comprehensive overview of the different material groups, which are characterized by their quality and appropriateness of use. Benefit is an assessment of titanium alloys, which exhibit excellent properties both in terms of mechanical, chemical and biocompatible.
