300 Years of the French Horn in Czech Lands

Author's precis The goal of my bachelor thesis is to chart the whole history of the French horn in the area of the Czech Republic. After an introduction of the origin of the instrument my thesis begins in the end of the 17th century when the first horns where brought to the Czech country thanks to The Count Špork. My first chapter describes the progress of the instrument in the literature which was written for the French horn and the first use of the French horn. I described the historical context of that epoch. The description in the second chapter is of the development of the instrument and the events connected with it, similarly as in the previous chapter, but it is situated into classicism. This chapter deals with the theme of transposition and with the significant horn players of Czech origin, particularly with Stich Punto. The end of the chapter is about composers who composed for horn in the era of classicism. The third chapter concerns the development of the instrument in the era of romanticism. It deals with the Prague conservatory from its founding up until now. The last part of the thesis offers the readers a list of the best Czech horn players of the 20th and 21st centuries. My bachelor thesis concerns the life of Robert Schumann and his piano cycles composed between 1845 - 1850, i. e. Album for the Young (Album für die Jugend) op. 68, Forest Scenes (Waldszenen) op. 82 and Multicolored Pages (Bunte Blätter) op. 99. The aim of this work is to put these cycles into the context of Schumann's life and his life-work, find the sources of inspiration and describe their role both from interpretational and instructive perspective.
Works for Piano of Václav Jan Tomášek and Use at Piano Education i n Basic Music Schools

This theses consists of four chapters. The first chapter presents life and work of Václav Jan Tomášek and characterizes the historical context. The second chapter deals with practical use of his compositions for students at music schools and also brings to light songs of Tomášek which can be used in chamber music education. The third chapter deals with music project as a modern concept in education. Fourth chapter describes music survey and its evaluation. This work schould provide deeper knowledge about Czech music composer V. J. K. Tomášek and his piano work.
Armenian piano literature focused on instructive literature

The diploma thesis is focused on the Armenian piano music in context with Armenian culture. The first chapter summarizes important events of the history of Armenia from the ancient times to the present. Following chapters describes Armenian musical culture and Armenian piano music. The last chapter intended to be the most important, it tries to characterize giants of Armenian music and their most important works.
Comparison between fine art and musical pieces of composer Luboš Fišer

This diploma thesis deals with comparison of five musical pieces of composer Luboš Fišer with fine arts. The thesis is divided in the two parts. In the first part we analyze general art trends in 1960s. We will make reference to the most important trends and personalities, who composed and painted in that age. We will also compare literature, fine art and music in Czech Republic in 1960s, which were the best years of Fišer's work. The second part of the thesis describes in detail five Fišer's pieces, which were composed in 1960s. These are Ruce - Hands (1961), Patnáct listů podle Dürerovy Apokalypsy - Fifteen Prints After Durer's Apocalypse (1965), Caprichos (1966), Double (1969) and Nářek nad zkázou města Ur - Lament over the Ruined Town of Ur (1970). Analysis of those pieces is based on comparison with inspiration sources (Albrecht Dürer: Apocalypse, Francisco Goya: Caprichos, old Sumer text called Lament over the Ruined Town of Ur) or it is based on comparison of Fišer's composition method with fine art piece (Double) or it is analyzed just from the semantic point of view of the piece (Hands). Goal of this work is to present composition of distinguished Czech composer Luboš Fišer to general public using analysis of his pieces. In the future, this work should be used for creation of composer's monograph...
Zdena Janžurová and her stimulations in piano pedagogy

My thesis deals with problematic instructive piano methodology. The aim of my thesis is to present the book called Little Piano School and the book called New Piano School. They were written by the authors Zdena Janžurová and Milada Borová. They are comprehensively compiled books that creatively explain the best of modern methodical processes. It teaches how to play tie piano and it includes lessons for children of three years of age up to fifth-sixth class school of art. Next, I want to introduce the personality of professor Zdena Janžurová and her working methods and point of view about teaching the piano.
