Use of magnetic susceptibility of forest soils for imission mapping in the Krkonoše National Park
Kapička, Aleš ; Petrovský, Eduard ; Fialová, Hana ; Podrázský, V.
Deep soil profiles were investigated in the region of the Krkonoše National Park. Magnetic susceptibility, thermomagnetic analysis, acquisition of remanent magnetisation and hysteresis curves were measured in laboratory on samples from individual soil horizons. The uppermost layer, characterized by enhanced value of magnetic susceptibility, can be reliably identified in all profiles.
Verification of the influence of tidal forces on seismicity in the West Bohemia
Kalenda, P. ; Skalský, Lumír
The first step of the verification LURR theory for prediction of main seismic events is verification of influence of tidal forces on the seismic activity. The LURR theory is based on influence of tidal forces on the faults. The massive in normal conditions does not show the difference between the seismic activity in the load and unload phase of the tidal variations.
The occurrence of extreme values of air temperatures during two centuries in Klementinum in Prague
Střeštík, Jaroslav
Using tables of maximal temperatures in the day and minimal ones in the night, recorded in Klementinum in Prague between 1775-2000, numbers of warm days and warm nights for each summer, and cold days and cold nights for each winter were determined. Number of warm days during the whole time of observation, especially in the last decades, increases, the other numbers decrease.
Lokalizace "kalibračního" odstřelu v Jakubčovicích a dva místní tektonické jevy v ostravské oblasti
Růžek, Bohuslav ; Zedník, Jan ; Jedlička, Petr ; Holub, Karel ; Rušajová, Jana ; Novotný, O.
Five temporary seismic stations were put into operation in the region delimited by the towns Ostrava-Opava-Hranice na Moravi. These stations are primarily operated in order to collect data from quarry blasts and mining induced events. Corresponding recordings will be used for the velocity model inversion. A strong quarry blast in Jakubčovice was recorded by 8 stations and interpreted
