Reception of Deml´s prose poetry Hrad smrti and Tanec smrti
SVOBODA, Marek
This bachelor thesis focuses on the readers' reception of Jakub Deml's works of poetical prose, specifically Hrad smrti and Tanec smrti from the perspective of Constance school of reception aesthetics. The theory is based mainly on the texts of German literary theorist Wolfgang Iser. The analysis of Deml's work is considered in the context of literary expressionism and is based mainly on Iser's take on empty spaces that enable the reader to connect the different perspectives in the text through the narrator, characters, story and a fictional reader "written in" the text. Unambiguity in the text creates a need to further specify its different aspects and this task is left to the reader.
