Do the sales of new passanger vehicles develop procyclically?
Brožová, Dominika ; Kovanda, Lukáš (advisor) ; Chytilová, Helena (referee)
The thesis is focused on verifying the pro-cyclical relationship of sales of new passenger cars in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and the subsequent evaluation of the impact of macroeconomic variables in the period from the first quarter of 2005 to the third quarter of 2015. In total, there are four different models estimated of multiple linear regressions of car sales, where for the Czech R. the estimation of different sectors of households and firms is available as well. By comparing the Czech R. and Slovakia regarding aggregate sales, fuel prices and gross domestic products are especially crucial and the pro-cyclical relationship is successfully verified. The economic crisis at the turn of 2008-2009 hit especially Slovakia, while the effect in the Czech R. was offset by a positive shock to fuel prices. For the model of households the procyclical relationship is denied unlike from the model of firms, shock to GDP therefore only deviate sales to firms. For Czech R. is also confirmed a significant relationship of the sales with interest rate or population growth.

Consequences of foreign exchange intervention on the economy of the Czech Republic
Košická, Monika ; Titze, Miroslav (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee)
Czech Republic is currently struggling with the threat of deflation, therefore the CNB has used the foreign exchange interventions to prevent this. The thesis examines the current state of the economy and aims to answer the question whether the depreciation of the crown truly prevent deflation and a possible deflationary spiral. To achieve the objective are used comparison methods, descriptions, observations and analysis, including relational analysis. The theoretical part focuses on the theoretical impacts of depreciation of the crown from a macroeconomic point of view. Furthermore, solves the problem of deflation and for example describes the deflation in Japan. In the practical part I compare the views of the CNB and other alternative views on this situation. In the final part I analyse GDP, export and import, terms of trade, consumption and inflation. Based on this analysis, I conclude that although that there was an improvement of some macroeconomic indicators, we can't ascribe the improvement to the foreign-exchange interventions.
Factors influencing consumer behavior of the population and the possible interactions between them
Suchá, Jana ; Smrčka, Luboš (advisor) ; Schönfeld, Jaroslav (referee)
This thesis analyzes the effects of various factors on consumer behavior of the population and their subsequent manifestations in consumer purchase decision-making process. The first part describes general concepts of consumer behavior and then it is followed by an analyse of cultural, sociological, psychological and ecnomic effects. Each chapter also specifficaly describes how these factors may affect consumers themselves. The theoretical section is folowed by the practical part, in which could be, because of adequate theoretical knowledge, specified eight hypotheses. In order to need collecting necessery data was completed a questionnaire. Its first part analyzes specific kind of consumer behavior manifestations, the second one analyzes the factors that influence the loan amount, which I chose as one of the consumer behavior manifestations. Three hypotheses were not confirmed, remaining five hypotheses were confirmed. With using the regression analysis there was shown that the factors which influence the loan amount the most are the wage amount, the purpose of the loan, marital status and age.

Second goal is to observe the changes in the structure of consumption, that happened in the monitored period. In the theoretic part the economical terms used in this thesis are explained. In the analytic part there are all expenditure group described into details. The changes in the structure of expenses are shown here and so is how a concrete group contributes to the overall expense of households.
Economic analysis of diaper consumption and their connection with business cycle
Totzauer, Přemysl ; Stroukal, Dominik (advisor) ; Potužák, Pavel (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to empirically test connection between diaper consumption and business cycle. The analysis is based on real sell out data from period 2004-2013. Procyclical evolution of diapers consumption and procyclical evolution of household expenditures on diapers has been proved in the thesis. Substitution of branded products with cheaper variants of private label has not been proved in the Czech Republic. It has been proved that private label market share behaves procyclically, probably due to lower price difference between branded products and private label in times of recession and vice versa
What Affects The Decreasing Consumption of Beer? Analysis of The Determinants of Demand
Podešva, Jiří ; Koubek, Ivo (advisor) ; van Koten, Silvester (referee)
The per capita consumption of beer in the Czech Republic is one of the biggest in the world. However, in recent years the consumption has started to decrease. This thesis analyzes determinants of demand of beer and possible causes of decreasing of beer consumption. The whole market is analyzed using the time series models. In the next step, the market was separated into on-trade and off-trade part. No previous researches have dealt with this division. It was proved, that wine is a substitute of the on-trade beer, but a complement of the off-trade beer. On-trade beer is an ordinary good and if the price increases by one Czech crown, the consumption will decrease by 5 %. Spirits are complements of on-trade beer. No impact caused by price on the consumption of off-trade beer was proved. During the analysis of off-trade beer was found out, that the beer is the gross substitute of wine and that the good weather makes its consumption to increase. The future prediction for 2014 suggests that average person will consume 57,5 liters of on-trade beer.
