Management chovu ovcí plemene suffolk v malochovu
Buchtová, Nikola
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to describe the management of Suffolk sheep breeding in small-scale farming. The thesis describes all the essentials that are associated with sheep breeding on your own farm. It includes, first of all, the issue of reproduction, but also nutrition. The thesis includes practical results of reproductive indicators that were collected on a selected farm in the town of Šumperk from 2016 to 2022. The results concern the evaluation of reproductive indicators of the monitored breeding in ewes, where different success rates in pregnant stallions were recorded in individual years. Attention is also paid to the evaluation of reproductive indicators of the monitored breeding in rams, where a stagnant situation in the success rate of pregnancy from 2016 to 2020 was found. A slight downward trend was then observed. Subsequently, the reproductive indicators of the breed were evaluated, where the numbers of births, lambs reared and the number of losses were compared. Results vary from year to year.
Zhodnocení vývoje chovu ovcí na vybraných farmách v regionu Valašsko
Matysková, Michaela
The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the current situation in sheep husbandry in the region of Moravian Wallachia in eastern Moravia. The literature review describes the characteristics of sheep husbandry in the Czech republic, the definition of the region of Moravian Wallachia, the most common sheep breeds, the most significant sheep diseases and the most significant predators of the sheep in the region. A significant part of this work is dedicated to predators of sheep, especially to wolves. In the practical part, a questionnaire intended for sheep breeders in the Moravian Wallachian region was made. Sheep breeders answered the questions regarding many aspects of the husbandry. In the end, measures to better the situation in sheep husbandry were introduced.
Vliv stupně příbuzenské plemenitby na reprodukční výkonnost ovcí plemene Zwartbles
Pospíšil, Jakub
The bachelor thesis is focused on the influence of inbreeding degree on reproductive performance in Zwartbles sheep. A brief description of the Zwartbles breed, its history and performance is given in the literature search. Furthermore, a general description of reproduction and the evaluation of reproductive performance. Finally, the thesis discusses breeding and the determination of the degree of inbreeding. The practical part of the bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of the influence of inbreeding on the reproductive performance of the Zwartbles herd bred on the Mohelno sheep farm in 2006 - 2021. The herd was divided according to the degree of inbreeding into four groups. For ewes, the percentage of born and weaned pups was evaluated. For lambs, gain, height of the longest lumbar muscle and chest (MLLT), loin fat height, conformation, and weight of lambs at 100 days of age were evaluated.
Etologické pozorovaní vybrané skupiny jehňat
Mrishchuk, Elizaveta
The topic of the bachelor thesis was ethological observation of a selected group of lambs. This bachelor's degree consists of two parts, namely a theoretical part and a practical or experimental part. The theoretical part contains individual information about the scientific field of ethology, its characteristics and meaning, as well as the origin of ethology, methods of observation and classification of animal behavior. Another part of the literature review is a description of the meaning of sheep breeding, the behavior of lambs, specific life manifestations. The experimental part consists of a description of the observed breed, also of my results of ethological observation and ethograms, and also includes an evaluation of the obtained results. The behavior of newborn lambs, lambs approximately 10 days old, and month-old animals was compared. In the end, I found out that newborn lambs spent more than half of their time resting, a quarter of the time moving behind their mother or standing. Animals 10 days old spent much less time resting than newborns, only 30%. In older animals, I observed new life manifestations: exploring the surroundings, caring for the exterior or drinking water. Month-old animals rested even less in percentage terms. The time spent pumping milk or exploring the surroundings also decreased. But on the other hand, grooming was increasing.
Zhodnocení inseminace u ovcí s využitím kvality cervikálního hlenu
Čaky, František
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the quality of cervical mucus in relation to insemination. This thesis describes the different methods leading to the detection of the optimal time for insemination, i.e. estrus detection, methods of sheep synchronization and methods of sheep insemination. In the practical part, reproductive indices related to insemination, cervical mucus arborization and from this determination of the optimal time for insemination and the amount and other properties of cervical mucus were evaluated.
Zhodnocení vybraných ukazatelů mléčné užitkovosti u ovcí plemene východofríská ovce
Pokorná, Michaela
During two successive lactations in 2009 and 2010 the aim of the study was to determine and evaluate chosen milk quality and quantity parameters in the flock of purebred East Friesian (EF) ewes. Experiment occurred during two lactation periods and 35 ewes were included in experiment in 2009 and 45 ewes in 2010. Milk records and samplings were carried out five times during milking period from May to September. Individual milk samples were analyzed for: total solids (TS), fat (F), protein (P), casein (CN), whey protein (WP), lactose (L). In addition the samples from 20 ewes were analyzed for: pH, titratable acidity (TA), rennet clotting time (RCT), rennet curd quality (RCQ), somatic cell count (SCC) and urea (U). In the study the effects of lactation stage, parity, litter size and month of lambing on chosen parameters were evaluated, as well as their interactions with LS. In 2009 the lactation stage had a significant effect on daily milk yield (DMY), milk composition, pH and titratable acidity. The parity had a significant effect on P, WP, L and RCT. However the litter size had a significant effect on DMY, L, TA and U. The month of lambing had a significant effect on DMY, TS, P, CN, L and TA. In 2010 the lactation stage had a significant effect on on DMY, milk composition, pH, TA, SCC and RCT. The parity had a significant effect on TS, F, L and U. Nevertheless the litter size had a significant effect on L and the month of lambing had a significant effect on L and SCC. In 2010 the part aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of lactation stage on fatty acids composition. The LS had a significant effect on contents of all chosen fatty acids and their sums.

The diploma thesis Evaluation of Sheep Grazing Management in Protected Areas deals with the use of grazing for sheep nutrition, sheep ethology, especially the influences that affect grazing behavior, and the use of grazing in the maintenance of vegetation in the National Nature Reserve of Mohelno Serpentinite Steppe. The 2018 grazing season in the National Nature Reserve of Mohelno Serpentinite Steppe took place from 23rd April to 25th May 2018 and three ethological observations were taken during this grazing season. On 9th, 17th and 21st May, the activities of the herd were recorded – namely lying, standing, walking and grazing. On the first observed day (May 9), the activities were represented in the ratio: grazing 37.50%, walking 12.35%, standing 5.81% and lying 44.34%. On the second day of observation (May 17), grazing took up 39.15% of the total observation time, walking 12.27%, standing 18.95% and lying 29.62%. On the last day of observation (May 21), the ratios of daily activities were: grazing 34.07%, walking 10.25%, standing 9.37% and lying 46.31%. Activities were also recorded depending on the grazing area, and the effect of air temperature on sheep behavior was investigated. The results are processed in charts and graphs in the appendix.
Occurrence of aflatoxin M1 in raw milk
UHLÍKOVÁ, Tereza
Mycotoxins, as secondary products of fungi, can contaminate feeds and enter the milk through the metabolic pathway in the cow's body. The most studied mycotoxin associated with milk contamination is aflatoxin M1 (AFM1). The review focuses on the identification of different types of mycotoxins and their transfer to milk, and attention is paid to a summary of the results of monitoring aflatoxins in milk and the negative effects of mycotoxins on health and the possibility of mycotoxins determination. The practical part of the thesis consists of two subchapters, namely monitoring AFM1 in raw milk of cows, sheep and goats in the years 2006-2020 from the data of the State Veterinary Administration of the Czech Republic, where the factor of the observed period and type of milk was evaluated for AFM1 content in raw milk. The second part interprets the results of AFM1 monitoring in purchased raw cow's milk delivered to the dairy factory.
