Automated external defibrillators in theory and practice

The bachelor thesis deals with the treatment and importance of location Automated external defibrillators in the particular units of Integrated Rescue System. In the theoretical part I describe basic anatomy and physiology of heart, patophysiology of selected cardiac arrhythmias. The largest part is devoted to Automated external defibrillators. In the several parts I explain philosophy of defibrillators, description of instruments, indication and contraindication of use, correctly use of defibrillators, the pros and cons their use in basic life support. In this bachelor thesis I write history of defibrillation and Automated external defibrillators. I mention studies, which were performed on this topic. In the practical part the quantitative method was used in the form of anonymous questionnaires. The survey was conducted at the particular units of Integrated Rescue System.

Tissue microcirculation in cardiac arrest setting - impact of various methods of circulatory support

Introduction: This dissertation thesis aims to describe microcirculatory changes in cardiac arrest setting and to assess the impact of circulatory supports (i.e. mechanical chest compressions and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)) on tissue microcirculation. Methods and results: Two separate studies were designed. Microcirculation was monitored sublingually by a recent Sidestream Dark Field (SDF) technique and its parameters were evaluated offline, separately for small (of diameter ≤ 20µm) and other vessels. In order to monitor microcirculation during cardiac arrest (CA) and resuscitation (CPR) an experimental pig model was used; eighteen pigs were commenced to 3 minutes of untreated CA and subsequent 5 minutes of mechanical CPR. During CA the microcirculatory parameters deteriorated, in CPR they improved and reached 59 - 85 % of the prearrest values. The microcirculatory variables correlated neither to parameters of systemic circulation (mean arterial blood pressure and carotid blood flow) nor to lactate. In the second, clinical, study the sublingual microcirculation was monitored 29 (± 17) hours after the CA onset in 15 patients, who were after unsuccessful conventional CPR rescued by ECMO. Comparing the success of resuscitation in a device without using Lucas in 2012 in the Emergency Medical Service of the Pardubice Region

This thesis deals with the success of manual and instrumental resuscitation. In the theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the history and organizational structure of emergency medical services Pardubice region, description of the Lucas chest compression and theoretical formulation of the problem. The practical part is focused on the evaluation of a set of data that are selected from the total number of trips EMS crews Pardubice. The selected file refers to cases NZO exits and their distribution in the subsequent resuscitation manual or instrument. Describes the percentage will compare their success with the use of the results of individual bases EMS ambulance crews Pak.
