The present bachelor thesis comprises of two main parts - the translation from Spanish to Czech and the commentary on the translation. The source texts are selected chapters from the book 20 nuevos directores del cine español by Carlos Hereder, which are composed as biographical summaries of the directors' lives and their work. The commentary consists of the analysis of the source text, description of the selected method of translation, typology of translation problems and shifts which occurred during the translation process. In the thesis "Contemporary Spanish Literature in the filmography of Mario Camus, The Beehive, The Holy Innocents, The House of Bernarda Alba" the focus has been on the reflection of Spanish literature in the work of an eminent Santander director Mario Camus. We have especially focused on comparing original works and their film adaptations, and on analysis of topics and values, which are mediated to the audiences. In the first chapter we have introduced Maria Camus as a person, his roots, and artistic tendencies. We have focused on the historical and cultural circumstances, which created the background for development of Camus' work and we have clarified the importance of the director in a group of new Spanish film. This group brought Spanish cinematography of that time a new view of presented reality. The second chapter provides a short introduction to literary and cinematic means of expression, clarifies their main differences and presents their terminologies, which will serve as fundamentals for the following chapters. In the main section, which comprises three chapters, we focused on the actual purpose of this thesis: that is the comparison of literary originals to their film adaptations, an analysis of each of the works. Elements Of The Road Movie Genre Focusing On The Theme Of Family In Contemporary Cinematography

In the bachelor thesis I am focusing on the modifications and use of the road movie genre focusing on the theme of family. Road Movies have variety of forms, but they all have one exact rule - moving from point A to point Z. What is going to happen on the road, that is unknown. I will try to demonstrate - on the examples of contemporary road movie - how our generation is losing conslusions, dreams and goals. What do we want, when do we want, why do we want? What are we searching for. Our generation is led to reach the most in the minimum of time. The most as fast as possible. It only leads to the rebelion, we are becoming the same anti-heroes as we know from the road movies. And we are getting on the road, searching for that "something" that will give us the meaning of our lives.

K tomu, abych ilustrovala jak se stejný příběh výrazně mění v závislosti na zemi původu, použiji příkladu Abre Los Ojos (Otevři oči, Španělsko, 1997) a jeho remake-u Vanilla Sky (Vanilkové nebe, USA, 2001). Cílem mé práce není dokazování které zpracování je lepší, ale spíše poukazování na skutečnost, že rozdíly jsou důsledkem rozdílné ideologické a kinematografické tradice. Nejprve budu psát o typech nových filmových zpracování, a o tom proč Hollywood předělává evropské filmy. Pak začnu porovnávat hlavní postavy obou filmů a ukáži jak odrážejí sociálně-behaviorální normy dle země původu. Poté budu pokračovat s dalšími kulturními rozdíly, které jsou patrné v jazyce, kinematografii, střihu, hudbě, herectví a režii. Hlavní sociologický, tím pádem i kinematografický rozdíl, který je přítomný ve všech aspektech a sekcích těchto filmů je ten, že zatímco Abre los Ojos se zabývá vnitřním zápasem protagonistů, Vanilla Sky je milostný film. Tento rozdíl v tématu odhaluje mnoho o preferencích v Evropě a v Americe.
