Walter, Pavel ; Zdichynec, Jan (advisor) ; Zouhar, Jakub (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with various aspects of the life of convent of Dominican Sisters of Saint Ann and Saint Lawrence at the Old Town of Prague. It integrates this community in to the context of the development of the Order of Preachers. It summs up the history of the Order in the Lands of Bohemia from the arrival of Dominicans up to the present day and the development of the Old Town convent from its founding to the beginning of the 18th century. It is based above all on unpublished sources which are deposited in the National Archive in Prague (fonds Archives of monasteries abolished under Joseph II., Order of Dominicanes of Saint Ann). In contrast to previous research, which is dedicated mostly to the economical history or to architectural and artistic development of this convent, this work follows the external activities of nuns (administration of their properties, churches under their patronages). It attempts in particular to draw the interior life of this convent (elections of superiors, the recruitment of novices to the Order, acquisition of various donations and supports etc.).

Lives of priests during the reign Ferdinand I in the dossiers of utraquistic consistory in broader historical context
Mrázek, Zdeněk ; Čechura, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Zdichynec, Jan (referee)
This work about the Utraquistic priests during the reign of Ferdinand I (1526-1564) is an attempt to describe the basic elements and problems the Utraquistic Church had to face at that time. These characteristic problems comprised more or less the content of pastoral work as well as the everyday work of individual clergymen. The first part clarifies some chosen aspects of Ferdinand's reign and is supposed to explain the reader some specific features about that time, about the personality of Ferdinand I as a ruler and last but not least about the conflict between political conception of the King and the Czech corporative representation. It is not all about description of Ferdinand's reign but it also shortly explains the problems that used to have crucial meaning at that time. The second part deals with history of the Utraquistic Church not only during the reign of Ferdinand I but in previous years as well. The year 1526 does not represent substantial landmark, although thanks to political development it is traditionally considered as very important. The beginning of the second chapter that deals with religious development of past Hussite and Yagellogian era is concentrated on the political questions of that time because the politics and religion used to be inseparably wedded. This is followed by the...

Pleskot, Jaroslav ; Zdichynec, Jan (advisor) ; Bobková, Lenka (referee) ; Ebelová, Ivana (referee)
Previous research of the Court of Appeals made in the past focused primarily on personnel matters. The authors focused on the appeals judgements occasionally. This is the reason why any significant progress in historical research in areas such as procedural matters, the definition and enforcement powers or the application of law didn't result. This thesis has the ambition to fill this empty space, at least partially. The aim of the dissertation is to provide a comprehensive picture of the Court of Appeals in the Czech lands from its foundation in 1548 to the early 17th century. This period represents a compact stage of development, when the status, authority and personnel structure are formatted and above all the shaping of decision-making and procedural practice occurs. Dissertation devotes most attention to appellate procedures. It shows what the role of Court of Appeals itself, of the lower courts and of litigant was. It examines in detail the various procedural aspects. It pays attention on how the jurisdiction of the Court of Appeals was accepted by royal and other towns in Bohemia and how the Court asserted towards other courts. It also mentions developments in other lands of the Czech Crown. The main subject of the research are the judgements of the Court of Appeals and normative sources...
