Strain, stress and strength analysis of the ball bearing considering the contact conditions
Prášil, Jiří ; Návrat, Tomáš (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
Motivation of this master‘s thesis is solution of practical problem of the newly developed slewing ring for tram Škoda, type: 15T. Next impulse for thesis creation was the possibility to extend product range of roller bearing ZKL. There is processed strain – stress analysis of bearing inner design making use the finite element method (FEM). Obtained results are compared with classic approach based on the Hertz theory. Important aim of this work is three main parameters optimal establishment: rolling element diameter, arrangement radius and number of rolling elements. Optimization job is realized by solutions of direct tasks with different parameters. With regard to necessity of detailed stress analysis and conservation of reasonable computational time it was chosen approach of combination global and local FEM model. It was used pre/postprocessor PATRAN and solver MARC for solution of strain and stress analysis. Analytic solution was accomplished in software EXCEL.
Strain, stress and strength analysis of the high pressure compound vessel by finite element method
Koutský, Jiří ; Suchánek, Miroslav (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
Strength and strain analysis of high pressure compound vessel, which is used to produce superhard materials (for example synthetic diamond). This work was elaborated to compare the stresses and strains calculated by Prof. Jan Vrbka making use of the FEM program ‘Prokop’17 years ago with those gained with the contemporary FEM Ansys program. The vessel is loaded by internal pressure of size 6 GPa. The elastic-plastic material be-haviour is taken into account. Real value of friction between rings and non-uniform temperature field is included into the calculation. The process of assembling the compound vessel is simulated step by step.
Stress, deformation and reliability computational analysis of the adjustable tandem trike frame
Ščotka, Martin ; Kubík, Petr (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with stress, deformation and safety analyses of adjustable frame of tandem tricycle. Starting with brief introduction of cycling, especially alternative cycling followed by indicating of whip assumptions and computational model of the frame. The final calculations have been done in three basic modes: direct motion, braking and cornering. Inner Stress Resultant has been summed, reduced pressure in a dangerous point has been expressed and safety issue has been figured up as well. Mathematical software MAPLE has been used to solve the assignment. Model is provided in software Autodesk Inventor
Deformation, stress and safety analysis of the bicycle frame.
Ondrejka, Jan ; Vosynek, Petr (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to assess complience and safety of the bicycle frame with basic elasticity approach, namely by deformation and stress analysis. After model simplyfying, two different cases were made. Difference between these two were in loads aplied on the frame. Maple 12.0 softwarre was used for calculation, Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD were used for sketches. The results were checked with ANSYS Workbench.
Deformation, stress and safety analysis of the recumbend frame.
Verner, Jan ; Majer, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
This work contains deformation, stress and safety analysis of recumbent bike frame from company AZUB. After introduction about history, definition of beam and beam assumptions, computational model of the frame was made fallowed the main solution. Three load states was checked - stillnes / uniform ride, deceleration and pedalling. The third one was subjected to deeper analysis. Bending problem in defined location was solved for all states. Inner stress resultans was solved as Von Misses stress, and the safet y was calculated. The fist state was compared with FEM. A program in MATLAB was made, enabeling calculation of user- selected frame geometry and loading.
Strain and stress analysis of the car buffer zone under impact loading
Nedělka, Pavel ; Obdržálek, Vít (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
The master thesis deals with a stress-strain analysis of the front crash structure of a race car by using the finite element method. The structure is loaded by an impact loading. This type of analysis belongs to the transient analysis so the explicit formulation of the finite element method is used. The LS-DYNA software was used for calculations. The goal of this thesis is to express the influence of the crash structure to the change of the car's kinetic energy as well as the amount of absorbed energy in case of frontal impact.
Computational analysis of residual stresses in autofrettaged high pressure rails
Blaha, Jakub ; Petruška, Jindřich (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
The master‘s thesis is aimed on numerical simulation of autofrettage of high pressure fuel vessel – rail in Common Rail system. First there is described Chaboche model, which is later used for simulation of autofrettage. There are described different approaches which can be used to obtain sufficient material model. Then there is observed influence of these different approaches on stress state of rail within the process of autofrettage. Suitability of Chaboche model for autofrettage and re-autofrettage simulations is assessed by comparing with more complex Jiang model. In the end there is a study of influence of autofrettage pressure on different properties, especially on residual stresses.
Influence of essential parameters on the radial clearance and stress-strain states in ball bearings
Šperka, Václav ; Vrbka, Jan (referee) ; Fuis, Vladimír (advisor)
Master thesis is focused on the research of influence of selected substantial parameters on stress – strain states in the deep groove radial ball bearing. The influence of radial load is analyzed, such as the influence of size of the bearing and row of the bearing, also influence of radial clearance is quantified. Next, the influence of thermal distribution in the bearing is analyzed for different combinations of thermal distributions and radial clearances. Conclusions from analyses are then used in the last task – suggestion of radial clearance for customer – specified assembly. Problem is solved using the finite element method (FEM) in pre/post processor MSC.Patran and solver MSC.Marc. To make analyses faster the substantial parameters are implemented in the algorithm for automatic generation of the bearing calculation (batch file). The theme of this thesis was commissioned by ZKL - Research and development, a. s.
Study of the Chaboche´s plasticity model complexity influence on the stress and deformation at the high pressure vessel
Paraska, Boris ; Obdržálek, Vít (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
The main aim of this thesis is to define material parameters of Chaboche model of plasticity. Adjustment of the parameters has to correspond to the experimental datas. These datas are represented by an uniaxial strain controlled test curve for fewer than two cycles and also by cyclic stress-strain curve. After that, an cyclic tension-compresion test for various parameters of Chaboche´s model of plasticity is simulated in an ANSYS software. Finally, the most suitable configuration of Chaboche´s model of plasticity is used for cylindrical thick-walled body. Cylindrical body represents a simplified model of high-pressure tank of fuel (diesel) – rail in Common Rail system.
LABORARTORY BRNO
Joja, Marie ; Vrbka, Jan (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
The specified urban piece of land is located at the corner of a city block in the historical centre of Brno. In terms of urbanism it forms a significant border between the city centre and adjacent neighbourhoods. The locality draws on the rich history of the city. It lies in a connection between green belt of parks on Koliště and related green avenue of Kapitána Jaroše and Park Lužánky Despite the dense automobile traffic on Ringstrasse the newly designed complex takes the advantage of city greenery when creating a green meadow in the courtyard. The proposed project continues in the tradition of cultural buildings on Ringstrasse. By the arrangement of solids it creates a barrier from the street view but it opens into the inner courtyard. It divides into three separately functioning objects, a gallery, a working platform and an administration building. Entries to individual objects are led through the green courtyard, which becomes the center of action.
