Lower-secondary students' drawings as a tool for finding their knowledge about external and internal constitution of fish body
VAŠKOVÁ, Iveta
The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse drawings of internal and external constitution of fish bodycreated bylower secondary students atselected schools in South Bohemia. A total number of 127 respondents from four schools and one grammar school were involved in the research. The questionnaire with three parts was used to collect data. First part was focused on demographic data about the respondent. Second part included a task for students to draw the external structure of the fish's body, while paying attention to the correct location of all fins. Third part of questionnaire contained pre-printed silhouette of a fish (carp), where students tried to correctly sketch pre-selected organs (heart, brain, stomach, intestines, liver, kidney, gas bladder, gills and lateral line organ). There was found in the analysis of the second part of questionnaire that the carp was the most frequently sketchedfish species. Most students had difficulty with drawing correct number of fins and placing them correctly. In third part of questionnaire, brain was the most often drew and correctly located organ. On the other hand, liver was the least drawn and kidney the most incorrectly drawn organ. Activities which could help with teaching this topic in biology lessons were designed based on the collected data. Three selected activities were introduced to lower secondary school teachers in order to get their feedback. Based on this information and pilot testing of two activities the methodological recommendations were written and some activities were slightly modified. The contribution of this diploma thesis can be considered in the practical use of theoretical knowledge of this topic and also activities which can be used by biology teachers at lower-secondary level. The results of the diploma thesismay be useful for the professional community as well as general public. They can become the basis not only for improving teaching this topic, but also for follow-up research using drawing as a tool for investigating the level of students' knowledge. Key words: children's drawing, externalconstitution of fish body, internal constitution of fish body, teaching activities, textbook.
The physical characteristics of primary schoolchildren in relation to type of nutrition in infancy
VAŠKOVÁ, Iveta
The objective of this bachelor thesis was the elaboration of a topic from available Czech and foreign literature and conducting a study to assess the body dimensions of children of younger school age in the category of nine-year-old due to the type of nutrition in infancy. Data collection was performed by the author of this work in the period from October 2017 to November 2018. Total measurements were attended by 136 children - 36 breastfed girls, 28 non-breastfed girls, 36 breastfed boys and 36 non-breastfed boys. The measurement was carried out at ten primary schools in the South Bohemian region in the municipalities from 3 to 6 thousand inhabitants and in the town with a population about 100 thousand. For the assessment were selected basic somatic data, such as body height, body weight and circumferential dimensions of the right arm, abdomen, hips and right thigh. There were also measured the skin folds - above the triceps, subscapular (below shoulder blade), suprailiacal (above the iliac crest) and on the thigh. The research performed in this thesis did not confirm the difference in the values of body characteristics of younger school children due to the type of their nutrition in infancy. The results of our research showed that non-breastfed children have higher average values in all measured parameters, but differences between breastfed and non-breastfed children were not statistically significant. Contribution of the bachelor thesis can be seen in the real use of the theoretical knowledge of this topic and methods of measurement in pedagogical practice. The results of the work could be interesting for professionals and the general public as a basis for further scientific investigation.

Vašková, I. ; Šmíd, Petr ; Horváth, Pavel ; Hrabovský, Miroslav
This contribution contains description of a speckle pattern correlation method for detection of time-variable processes, especially measurement of moving object velocity. The introductory part is devoted to a general principle of the measurement method, then attention is focused on measurement of velocity of an aluminum object under investigation. A designed experimental setup is described and some of the achieved results are mentioned.
