This bachelor's thesis analyzes and compares the approaches of individual Colombian governments to the peace process with a primary focus on the last three presidential administrations. The introductory part describes the history of Colombia's internal conflict with an emphasis on the period after the events of La Violencia. The main part of the work is focused on the analysis of peace negotiation strategies and describes the factors determining the partial successes and failures of the administrations of the three presidents Andrés Pastrana, Álvaro Uribe, and Manuel Santos between 1998 and 2018, while each of them contributed to a different extent to the conclusion of the final peace agreement in November 2016
Treatment of spinal cord injury targetting secondary mechanisms

1 Abstract Traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) is severe condition with devastating long- lasting consequences. There is still no available treatment. After initialing mechanical trauma, there is a huge cascade of secondary reactions which amplifies the damage. This thesis is focused on potential therapeutic effect of photobiomodulation, natural anti- inflammatory compounds epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), curcumin, their combination and extrapure synthetic form of curcumin called "nanocurcumin" on impacts of experimental model of SCI in rats. Photobiomodulation using combination of two synchronized wavelengths 808 and 905 nm improved functional recovery after SCI evaluated by battery of locomotor tests and somatosensory plantar test. The group treated by photobiomodulation obtain better results in all tests. The histopathological analysis showed a positive effect on white and gray matter sparing and our data suggests an upregulation of M2 microglia/macrophages in photobiomodulation treated rats assessed by immunohistochemical and RT-qPCR analysis. Our results demonstrated that the photobiomodulation is a promising non-invasive therapy for improving functional recovery and tissue sparing after SCI. Pathophysiology of Spinal Cord Injury Studied by In Vivo Optical Imaging

Patients suffering from spinal cord injury experience physical, social, and vocational impairment. It is a condition often causing a permanent disability mainly due to axonal regeneration incapability in the central nervous system. The primary insult simultaneously damages cells in the lesion site and initiates a cascade of secondary cellular, vascular, and biochemical events extending the injury. These pathophysiological mechanisms are examined using multiple approaches. Novel imaging techniques complement classical histopathological methods and neuroanatomical tracing. Recent studies employ transgenic mice and two-photon microscopy to observe single cells in the injury site and the nearby vasculature in vivo longitudinally. In vivo optical imaging enables studying of axonal responses, such as degeneration, regeneration, and neurovascular interactions. It also gives an opportunity to assess the effects of applied drugs directly. New findings lead to a better understanding of the pathophysiology of spinal cord injury, resulting in the ability to develop other therapeutic strategies improving the outcome after injury. The partnership between České Budějovice and Lorient seen from the French point of view

The bachelor thesis "Partnership between České Budějovice and Lorient cities from the French side's point of view" is concerned with cooperation of two European cities which began in the sixties of the twentieth century, following the acquaintance of Břeský and Saffre families. The cooperation was being formed progressively up until 1997 when an official treaty was signed. The goal of the thesis is to provide a preview of the partnership from the French side's point of view and to describe key areas of its development with the focus on its perception by French public and the institutions which participate in it. The whole issue is described based on broader context of Czech-French relations.
Media Coverage of the Czech ice-hockey team in 2010 - 2015

This thesis entitled "The Media Image of the Czech Hockey Team in the years 2010 - 2015" deals with the presentation of the Czech national ice hockey team at the World Championships in 2010, 2013 and 2015, in the Mlada fronta Dnes and the Sport daily newspapers. It focuses on the media image created during the championships with different process, results and circumstances. The theoretical part presents the concepts, methods and procedures. It focuses on the introduction of semiotics, its principles and explains the basic concepts of the semiotics and semiotic analysis work. Another area is the media construction of reality, which is important for analyzing media image. The media coverage of the sports events, myths associated with it, creating a statute of athletes' celebrities or presentation of national pride and identity in the background of sports events are the important topics of the presented theoretical starting points. In the methodological part there is presented the research project explaining the topic, objective and a sample of the research, the tasks of the research and also questions addressed in subsequent practical part.
