Influence of different types of AGM separators on parameters of lead-acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles
Čada, Miroslav ; Vaculík, Sebastian (referee) ; Tošer, Pavel (advisor)
The most used type of the secondary energy sources is the lead-acid accumulator today. It is also used as a propulsion in hybrid electric vehicles. Functional principle stayed same as in foundation time, only parameters are still improving. Lifetime of lead-acid accumulator is influenced by used separator. The work deals with the description of properties of lead acid separators, methods of testing and evaluation of the suitability for use.
Effect of titanium dioxide on the properties of lead-acid batteries operating in hybrid vehicles mode
Konečný, Zdeněk ; Tošer, Pavel (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with lead-acid batteries operating in hybrid electric vehicles mode, i.e. in a partial state of charge. The adverse effects such as premature capacity loss and large internal resistance can markedly affect the life of a lead battery. The experiment described in this work aims to clarify the influence of the titanium dioxide in the active mass of negative electrodes especially in the life of lead acid batteries.
Exploring the influence of pressure on the life of lead acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles
Pospíchal, Martin ; Tošer, Pavel (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The lead-acid batteries used in hybrid electronic vehicles HEV operate in high-rate mode in a state of partial charge PSoC. It occurs when the degradation mechanisms related to irreversible sulphation and negative electrodes are a limiting factor in the life of lead-acid batteries. The electrode system was applied to experimental pressure cells of different sizes. Exp. cells were subjected to measurement and evaluation of potential negative electrode, a negative active mass resistance, contact resistance of transition collector - the active mass with the evaluation and measurement of pressure fluctuations within four PSoC runs.
Investigation of temperature changes in the lead-acid battery system for hybrid electric vehicles
Kadrnka, Petr ; Tošer, Pavel (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
The lead-acid batteries are most commonly used electrochemical power source. The lead-acid battery is the oldest type of secondary battery cells. This lead-acid batteries have a great use in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), which operate in different modes of vehicle operation. This is related to changes in battery temperature, caused by Joule heat taking place during discharging and chargingg the battery in a vehicle operation. The lead-acid batteries in hybrid electric vehicles work in mode PSoC.
Usage of thermovision for detection of defected modules in solar system
Strnadel, Jan ; Tošer, Pavel (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with using thermography to detect defect of photovoltaic panels. There is research of the effect of climatic conditions to photovoltaic panel temperature. At the end of the thesis is degradation of pv panels calculated.
Effect of glass fibers in the lead-acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles
Klojda, Viktor ; Tošer, Pavel (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Master´s thesis deals with the utilization of lead-acid accumulators in hybrid electric vehicle regime. It describes the side effects known as PCL, generated during PSOC regime and connected with the length of the battery lifespan. One possibility how to eliminate these effects, is the use of additives in active mass of the negative electrode, in the form of glass fibres. The project provides the parametres and reactions of additive, that have lead to the improvement of battery properties. The purpose of this thesis is to verify the positive effect of the aditive on the lifespan of the lead-acid accumulator.
Lead Acid Battery Charger
Jeleček, Ondřej ; Tonar, Karel (referee) ; Tošer, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on design of lead acid baterry charger. First chapters describes the charging and discharging principes. This paper also shows basics types of lead acid batteries, their distribution depends on maintenance and part connected to the processes connected to the charging and discharging of the acumulators. Following part is focused on theoretical design of the charger with set up of parameters. Diploma thesis also contains comparsion of requested and real parameters of the charger.
The cycle modes of lead-acid batteries
Mičák, Tomáš ; Tošer, Pavel (referee) ; Vaculík, Sebastian (advisor)
Main goal of the diploma thesis is to examine lead-acid accumulator and to study cycling modes in different setups. Theoretical part describes history, types of maintenance-free batteries, degradation mechanisms and possibilities to remove them. Practical part involves the production of electrodes and experimental cell, composition of active mass and measurement of internal resistance. Different configurations for deep cycling are researched as well. The results of the work are summarized and commented at the conclusion of the thesis.
Lead-acid battery formation
Hlaváč, Pavel ; Tošer, Pavel (referee) ; Vaculík, Sebastian (advisor)
This bachelor project deals with the pulse charging of lead-acid batteries and ways of formation of electrodes so that the new batteries can constantly offer high performance and efficiency for its life. The work is an attempt to compare and determine whether the formation of different charging modes will not have a major impact on the quality of a formed battery. The formation of the different modes uses both the pulse and continuous charging. Everything is tested on four manufactured articles. The production of positive electrode and formation of accumulator is processed in various chapters of my project at our workplace.
Dynamic model of the batteries
Milichovský, Miloš ; Vaculík, Sebastian (referee) ; Tošer, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis includes the basic principles of lead-acid, NiCd, NiMH and Li-Ion batteries. There is a description of their features and phenomena that processes in the batteries during charging and discharging. The most important part is devoted to dynamic models of these types of batteries, the parameters that are necessary for their modeling, and testing of absolute error models. Further, the model in Matlab was created which allows the simulation of the GRID-OFF photovoltaic system using the battery model.
