Design methods for computer networks
Božek, Martin ; Stančík, Peter (referee) ; Hajný, Jan (advisor)
Bacherol‘s thesis deals with a topic of a suitable computer network design for a mid-sized infrastructure, its security and router and firewall realization. This boundary element is able to manage basic processes of network controlling between inner and outer network. There is a brief analysis of OSI model but we focused our attention on TCP/IP model more closely. Our project includes description and outlines an importance of the most common elements of the particular network type and their contribution to the security. Description of the three most frequent topologies of the infrastructure type follows. On the basis of the found information, we have chosen and analysed the most suitable topology from the security point of view. The result of the theoretical part is a network model proposal. In the practical part, some our findings are tested and implemented in a real setting. We used a technology of virtualization for the final realization and testing. Thanks to the virtualization used for realization and testing, we could configure the router and the firewall, which are boundary elements that separate the inner network from the Internet.
Elliptic curve based cryptosystems
Křivka, Petr ; Hajný, Jan (referee) ; Stančík, Peter (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis is examined problems elliptic curve cryptosystems. It is described mathematical underground, which use these systems. In more details is analyzed arithmetic finite fields. An important part of this work is the analysis of elliptical curves in cryptography. Among analyzed algorithms include e.g. ECDH or ECDSA. In conclusion is designed software solution, which helps in the study cryptosystems based elliptic curves. It allows basic operations over prime field.
Broadband services over power lines
Svoboda, Jan ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Stančík, Peter (advisor)
The Bachelor´s thesis is intend on assembly of basic informations from area of PLC systems. It envisages the modern problems in area of communication on the energy supply networks. By the aim is provide compact informations about particular areas of usage PLC systems – both in a household, an automatic exercises and in a possibilities of broadband. The first part of thesis includes the theoretical informations about PLC network. The second part considers by testing of basic parameters PLC network. Of all the made measurements are draw conclusions and valorize the usability of metering devices.
Hash functions and their usage in user authentication
Piller, Igor ; Stančík, Peter (referee) ; Hajný, Jan (advisor)
This thesis concerns with hash functions and their usage in authentication. It presents basics of hash functions theory and construction elements. In particular the thesis focuses on LMHash, MD4, MD5 and SHA family hash functions, which are compared from the security point of view. The thesis describes in general the most frequently used hash function attacks, points out the weaknesses of current construction and mentions the future perspective of hash functions. Furthermore the thesis outlines the area authentication and describes usage of hash functions in the area. Practical part of the thesis contains an implements of a general authentication framework implemented in programming language C#. The result is client and server applications, in which two selected authentication methods were successfully tested. The result implementation is flexible with respect to the possible future use of other authentication methods.
Internet Connection variants using present TV cable wiring
Lukáč, Michal ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Stančík, Peter (advisor)
This dissertation examines data transfers along the existing lines of cable TV. PLC equipment has been selected as the focus of this examination. The essay examines the question of Multicarrier modulation and focuses more specifically onto the problem of OFDM modulation, which is being used by the selected equipment. It further describes the process of integration of PLC equipment into the cable TV network, modifications of the CATV and the basic topology of the created data networks. The essay also offers a closer look onto a PLC modem and Head End from Corinex that have been used in the implementation of a data network in a selected rural settlement. The author has also raised the issue of the problems connected with cable wires connected with this particular type of data transfers and the solutions of some of the encountered problems. The characteristics of this network have then been measured during normal operation of the created network. Measurements have been carried out in order to determine the transfer speed on a physical and transfer level, the SNR of specific connections and the signal attenuation. The measurements have confirmed the suitability of the used PLC equipment for the purposes of data transfer along the cable TV lines as far as data speed and signal strength was concerned. A map of the particular cable TV lines and the PLC equipment has been included in the attachment.
Network attacks by Cain & Abel
Smékal, Lukáš ; Stančík, Peter (referee) ; Sobotka, Jiří (advisor)
This Master’s thesis is dealt in the local area network security, cryptographic algorithms, particular attacks on computer networks a practical application these attacks in local area networks. To application particular attacks is used the Cain & Abel program. The detailed manual for this program is created from the results of these attacks. This manual contains the exhibits of usage particular program tools and the attack application exhibits. This manual considers consequences of particular attacks and summarises achieved results during work with tools too. Master thesis closely deals with one of the program tools called RSA SecureID Token Calculator. Authentication via hardware tokens is contained in this Master thesis. Thesis contains the way of authentication using RSA SecureID Token Calculator without physical owning of the hardware token. Cain & Abel program shows and interprets why cashed passwords in operation system are dangerous and it shows methods how attacker can reveal this passwords from the operation system memory. This Master thesis is focused on sniffing credentials and passwords in local area networks and it is focused on cryptographic algorithms cracking for username and passwords revealing.
Software support for cryptography education
Stančík, Peter ; Vyoral, Josef (referee) ; Burda, Karel (advisor)
The main aim of this thesis was to study, choose and decribe techniques eligible for cryptography education. A pedagogically appropriate presentation for the selected techniques' principles was to be chosen. Another goal was to create an integrated modular web interface containing a calculator focused on cryptographic operations. The eligibility of techniques was assessed accordingly to the computing processes implied by these techniques and also accordingly to the ability of being presented in an illustrative way. A program simplifying calculations used in symetric and asymetric cryptography was designed and implemented. It disposes of a web interface and one of its parts is focused on steganographic techniques. On the other hand, any pedagogically appropriate presentation interconnecting this program with theoretical findings from this field was not found.
Electronic data storage system
Valkovič, Marek ; Lattenberg, Ivo (referee) ; Stančík, Peter (advisor)
The work presents the design and real world implementation of an information system serving as an electronic disk with web based access and administration. The task is being solved using the PHP scripting language and MySQL relational database management system. The study examines PHP and SQL databases, states basic facts and explains how they are connected to create one single complex system. Issues of an internet based payment system are being considered too. The proposed system features complete file management capabilities. Separate access rights can be set for individual users. The administrator of the application can display several interesting statistics. Results of the work are being demonstrated on the final web application.
IP Multimedia Subsystem technology signalling
Čech, Martin ; Stančík, Peter (referee) ; Mácha, Tomáš (advisor)
Aim of this Bachelor´s thesis is to describe singnalization during communication through IP Multimedia Subsystem technology. The first part focuses on describing the technology itself, entities of its architecture and used protocols. Next part deals with creation of a network which will be used for examining signalization during call sessions. This network is created in Ericsson´s Service Development Studio environment. The last part discusses development and testing of client application for instant messaging.
Wireless network security implementation variants
Nečas, Ondřej ; Růčka, Lukáš (referee) ; Stančík, Peter (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to introduce the reader into the issue of the data transfer via wireless network which is a rapidly evolving and widely applied field. The work mainly deals with the important issue of how to secure a wireless connection correctly and effectively. In the beginning, the work provides the introduction into the basic terms of the field. Then, the basic types of a wireless network security are introduced together with the related standards of the wireless transmission security. Furthermore, the fundamentals of the information cryptography are explained as well as the basic principles of the most frequently used means of the Wi-Fi network security. The practical part comprises the demonstration of individual penetration attacks on the most frequent types of security features and standards used in the wireless networks.
