Němcová, Eliška ; Remišová Věšínová, Kamila (advisor) ; Popelka, Miroslav (referee)
This bachelor's thesis examines find contexts of Neolithic figural art in Southwest Slovakia. A list of finds from Trnava, Bratislava and Nitra districts is attached to the thesis. Additionally, the thesis considers typological development of figural art in Southwest Slovakia during individual periods of Neolithic. An integral part of this paper is comparison between Palaeolithic and Neolithic figural art. The thesis presents similarities and differences regarding their form, material and find contexts in Europe. Furthermore, it describes the most frequent types of find contexts and their eventual interpretation within Europe and Near East. The thesis also emphasizes atypical, nevertheless, essential contexts in Southwest Slovakia. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Gender analysis in the interpretation of sociocultural aspects of the Neolithic
Remišová Věšínová, Kamila ; Popelka, Miroslav (advisor) ; Podborský, Vladimír (referee) ; Pavúk, Juraj (referee)
Gender is a social construct expressing that attributes and behavior connected with the image of man and woman are generated by culture and society. Unlike sex, a universal category that does not change with time and space, gender shows that the determination of roles, behavior and social norms connected with men and women differs within various societies, time periods and social groups. Archaeology is a culturally and historically conditioned scientific discipline though it quite often fails to remember its cultural basis. Its main task, the research in cultural and social structure of ancient populations, is a very complicated task and its outcome is often uncertain for there is no possibility of feedback. Archaeology, same as all other humanities, cannot claim fully objective scientific results. However, in its essence tied with exploring the life of ancient populations, it strives for objective findings and thus it necessarily has to focus on material culture, namely its expressions and its embedment in social structures. It is only material culture that can mediate dependable results. But if material culture is not interpreted as embedded in a cultural and social context, it becomes an unfruitful source with zero informational value. Thanks to new approaches, theories and methods that have emerged...

Possibilities and limits of gender analysis for interpretation of the so called genre scenes on the Black and Red Figured vases
Kroutilová Jamrichová, Zuzana ; Pavúk, Peter (advisor) ; Remišová Věšínová, Kamila (referee) ; Bažant, Jan (referee)
Black and red figured pottery is a captivating, while also a vast and demanding subject of research. For decades, vases were primarily studied as valuable art objects and scenes depicted on them considered as testimonies of ideas and lives of their creators and users. Many researchers focussed on interpreting the scenes captured on these vessels. When studying works by our research predecessors, it can be noted that their methods and conclusions were often influenced by the socio-cultural context in which they lived and worked. The aim of this thesis is not to create new, surprising interpretations of selected scenes or to point at erroneous interpretations of other researchers. The aim of this work is to draw attention to how contemporary society has influenced researchers and the methods they use and conclusions they draw when interpreting scenes considered for long periods as immutable, final and undisputable. While re-evaluating adopted conclusions I drew on gender studies and gender analysis which require a multidisciplinary approach to research and interpretation of vase paintings. In four subject areas I pointed out to what extent the dichotomies within which we are used to think and with which we work, i.e. dichotomies of masculine - feminine, public - private, exterior - interior, but also...

Oudová, Radka ; Štěpánová, Irena (advisor) ; Remišová Věšínová, Kamila (referee)
The master's thesis called Sofie Podlipská. Public Activities in the Light of Historical Documents makes a contribution to the history of Czech women's emancipation. It deals with Sofie Podlipská and her social, literary, and cultural activities. She is presented as an independent and creative woman who gained the respect of society as a writer and philanthropist and, at the same time, managed to combine motherhood with her career. Anthropological reflection of the life story of Sofie Podlipská in the context of her social activities is the substantial part of the thesis as well as the reflection of the key factors that helped shape her opinions, attitudes and viewpoints. The major part of the thesis is the description of these activities as reflected in historical resources that have survived in the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature and the Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures. Research perspectives that open possibilities for future studies and the interpretation of existing archival documents of the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature and the Podještědské Museum in Český Dub are also significant parts of the thesis. KEY WORDS Sofie Podlipská, 19th century, self-reflection, ego-documents, marriage, family, emancipation, society, fellowship,...

Sociocultural and spiritual aspects of the image of Nature-Woman in the environmental context
Zhukova, Anastasia ; Lapka, Miloslav (advisor) ; Remišová Věšínová, Kamila (referee)
This Bachelor's thesis is examining how is the image of Nature-Woman used in environmental context. When I speak about the image of Nature-Woman, I mean both explicit depiction of nature as a woman and general depiction of nature with emphasis on its feminine features. The image of Nature- Woman is being examined in following contexts: feminism, Gaia theory, deep ecology and wicca. The phenomenon of femininity is then being examined in two layers of meaning: in sociocultural layer and in spiritual layer. Sociocultural aspects of femininity in this thesis are based on social constructivism. Spiritual layer of femininity is based on archetypal femininity as it was described by C. G. Jung in his theory of archetypes. Questions this thesis examines are as follows: How does environmentalism uses the mythical image of a woman? Is it possible to connect sociocultural and spiritual layers of how femininity is being perceived in order to expand environmental awareness? Methods, that are being used to find answers to these questions are: literature comparation, analysis and deduction. Key words: femininity, archetypes, nature, culture, Gaia
