The Modification of Secularization Thesis During the Last Third of the 20th Century- A Comparison of P. L. Berger and R. Stark

This diploma work discusses the long-term effort of two major sociologists of our time. My thesis is a comparison taking place on the background of introducing the general trend in the sociology of religion. A trend, which comes from the long-term valid ideas, which claim that the present time is stigmatised by a new social phenomenon. The theory of modernity was the result of the development of social (and other) sciences, which has given it a normative and self-evident status of undeniable social fact, which is not to be questioned. The revision of the theses of modernity as well as secularity started as a consequence of these social changes, whose causes are summarized by a general and empty term "postmodernity". The argument, which has been going on in the sociologic discussion for a long time, has reached the necessity of modification of the old secularization theses.

Spirituality in the Addiction Treatment

Spiritualita při léčbě závislosti Spirituality in the Addiction Treatment Lydie Kárová In my work, Spirituality in the Addiction Treatment, I focus on spirituality as a component of personality, which is involved in its formation and development. The work falls into three parts, in the first one I place spirituality into the Czech environment and present its definition, in the second part I look for the role of spirituality in the conception and treatment of addiction and in the third one I present four specific spiritual methods applied in the treatment of addiction. In all parts I work with a spirituality model by Zdeněk Vojtíšek. Seven levels of this model together form a complex component, which is spirituality. The starting concept of the spirituality model is that the individual levels transmit each other, they do not function separately, they can be variously represented and their source can be anything. This confirms an example of addiction that operates on all these levels. I define addiction as a dependent relationship that does not distinguish between forms of addiction, but emphasizes their common features. Religions and Human Rights on the Horn of Africa

This thesis is dedicated to relationship between Religions and Human Rights in the region of African horn. In order to understand correctly situation of human rights in this area it is necessary to describe history of development of Human Rights on European continent and in Africa. Futhermore the attention is drawn to the different apprehension of individual and his role in the community, which is reflected both in African culture and delimitation of human rights. The thesis also pays attention to the characteristic of African horn and its individual countries. This text surveys reflecting of long-term critical situation in this region to the observence of Human Rights and role of Religion on theirs promotion.

Wilhelm Schmidt's theory of Urmonotheismus, Pettazzoni's criticism and Pettazzoni's theory of the origin of the supreme beings

This bachelor thesis deals with two theories of the origin of religious figure of the Supreme Being, from which these theories derive the origin of all religions. The first part describes Wilhelm Schmidt's theory of Urmonotheismu, which is in this work affiliated to a wider context of Schmidt ethnological research, based on cultural, historical and ethnological method. The second part introduces the Pettazzoni's theory of the origin of the Supreme Being. Firstly, the thesis is becoming familiar with his unveiling scholarly pre-understanding in relation to religion and subsequently with Pettazzoni's conception of the divine attribute of omniscience.
