Shop with image content
Stluka, Jakub ; Palovský, Radomír (advisor) ; Sklenák, Vilém (referee)
Work is dedicated to electronic image commerce and image content analysis and is focused on the functionality required for such e-shop and its development based on open source tools. The theoretical part contains the principles of world stock libraries and used business models. Then, the work deals with issues of classification and retrieval of content, which analyses the possibility of categorization, text search, tagging, theme issue of synonyms and this topic is completed by the overview of current opportunities in the field of automatic content identification. Next topic covers licensing issues, in which current standard licensing models are examined, followed by the topic of content protection, which aims to protect the photos, while allowing their sale. Last chapter of theoretical work is about payment options, in which the work seeks to evaluate the selected payment methods used in connection with the image bank. Theoretical work is followed by practical work, where online photo bank model is designed and implemented, allowing users to search, buy and upload photos using simple credit transactions. Within the description of the model functions is outlined where and how the model should be extended in case of deployment to real business.
Signing in users using simpleSAMLphp
Vrbík, Tomáš ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Palovský, Radomír (referee)
The document theoretically and practically deals with capabilities of using shared authentication in 3 varieties. The first is technologically easiest alternative of direct access to the authentication database. Second one is usage of shared authentication website, commonly known as Open ID. Third option is Single Sign-On system. The goal is to solve the fact dominating in use, where there is a need to have a special account set for every service user uses. The amount of services supporting shared authentication is minor. The second part of the document describes in detail the deployment of simpleSAMLphp, the web application designed for an implementation of the Single Sign-On. For the implementation a web server with PHP support has been used. As an application, which uses the shared authentication via simpleSAMLphp, WordPress was picked. Authenticating users on the side of Identity Provider was done against LDAP directory server OpenDS.
Capabilities of current electronic payment systems
Knap, Jiří ; Palovský, Radomír (advisor) ; Beránková, Renáta (referee)
This thesis describes the development of payment systems through time from barter payments to modern electronic payment systems, describing law background for these systems in Czech Republic and also shows capabilities of the most popular internet payment system PayPal. Finaly in this thesis I apply theoretical knowledge to implement PayPal payments into small e-shop, so the customers will be able to pay for their goods using PayPal acocunts or simple credit card payment.
Terminal classroom with LTSP
Pěnka, Michal ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Palovský, Radomír (referee)
The purpose of this work is to find out whether it is possible to implement the Linux Terminal Server Project (LTSP) on production systems such as schools, offices etc. LTSP is an open sourced system for distributing the Linux-based operating systems to limited number of thin clients using common TCP/IP networks, Small computer laboratory network, used mainly for educational purposes, is chosen for the installation, configuration and testing of the LTSP and the additional subsidiary courseware. After reading following text, reader should be informed firstly about the history, future development and use cases of the LTSP and secondly should be able to install, configure and implement similar solution in TCP/IP networks.
Setting Up And Securing Enterprise Wireless Network
Balon, Lukáš ; Palovský, Radomír (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Luboš (referee)
The topic of this bachelor's thesis is to set compact view on the issues of the wireless networks, their settings and proper security in corporate environment. Wireless networks are supposed to simplify access to the internet and business data, but especially in this area, it is necessary to put forth above standard care to security policy, to protect network from external attacks. First part of this work is focused on theoretical background of the Wi-fi, basic functioning principles, history and step-by-step development of technology. Explains differences between particular standards, defines basic parameters of Wi-fi devices. Next part is focused on network security. It explains encryption methods and procedures and describes differences between ciphers. This section also deals with other possibilities, how to solve security questions. Third section deals with installation of wireless components, their proper configuration and other settings. From this text emerges, how simple to buy and how available are wireless components today. Last part id formed by series of experimental hacks into secured network, shows how simple it is to decrypt some ciphers. It proofs which ways of network security are best to use in enterprise environment.
SELinux
Brunclík, Jiří ; Palovský, Radomír (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
The goal of the bachelor thesis SELinux is to summarize the principles and current development status of open-source security project called Security-Enhanced Linux. The main sources for the thesis were official documentation for the project, English books regarding the subject, papers and slides from security conferences and practical knowledge gained by running the software being researched. The thesis represents an unique overview of SELinux features, alternatives and history in Czech language. It sums up majority of the available sources and adds real life examples of how SELinux works in individual Linux distributions. Final part of the thesis is dedicated to comparison with existing alternatives implementing Mandatory Access Control in Linux. The main contribution of the thesis is that it presents a so far non-existent overview of available solutions for Mandatory Access Control and brings out their main advantages and disadvantages in comparison to SELinux. It also represents a complex summary of how SELinux is implemented in various Linux distributions. The thesis can be utilized as a brief introduction to hardening Linux systems, as an overview of available products bringing enhanced security to this operating system, or even as a basis for making decisions of which security system to implement. It might also be used as a brief summary of SELinux history.
Latest trends in public-key cryptography
Tvaroh, Tomáš ; Ivánek, Jiří (advisor) ; Palovský, Radomír (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to describe principles of public-key cryptography, introduce and compare latest algorithms for asymmetric encryption and point out their advantages over the most popular cryptosystem - RSA. At the beginning, this thesis describes the evolution of public-key cryptography, its differences compared to symmetric-key cryptography and possibilities of using it for data encryption and digital signature. Mathematical background as well as principles of RSA are described afterwards. At the end, this thesis focuses on the latest algorithms on the basis of eliptic curves and their advantages over the most common algorithms are pointed out. The comparison is then summarized and a recommendation for the best cryptosystem is offered.
SELinux
Vadinský, Ondřej ; Palovský, Radomír (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to describe principles of SELinux technology. Thesis examines and comments level of support of SELinux in some Linux distributions. This is than used for building new security policy for chosen program. To describe basic principles of SELinux the thesis draws information out of many available sources. To find out about how much SELinux is supported in chosen distributions, those distributions are installed and tested. After that level of user-friendliness is valued. Policy building is done after situation analysis and specification of security goals. Contribution of the thesis is in the first place a creation of security policy for type situation. In addition to this thesis contains a study of level of SELinux support in chosen distributions based on practical experience and testing. Thesis also shows how to install and set up SELinux. Structure of thesis respects its goal. For each of them there is one part of thesis, which is than structured according given goal.

Kachlík, Petr ; Palovský, Radomír (advisor) ; Švecová, Jarmila (referee) ; Nováček, Jan (referee)
Práce porovnává možnosti přístupu a zabezpečení dvou komunikačních rozhraní: SOAP a RMI.
