GeoGebra in geography teaching at lower-secondary school.
PÁTEK, Jaroslav
This diploma thesis is due to its theme within the reach of two scientific branches mathematics and geography. Particularly, it deals with possibilities of unusual application of dynamic geometry during lessons of geography in elementary schools. From the theoretical point of view, the thesis is grounded in the crucial document for czech schooling Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. The theoretical part of the thesis is followed by practical part, whose content is influenced by analysis of Geography as an educational area, which can be found in this very document. The particular contents of the practical part consist applets describing selected geographic phenomenons and problems.

Mathematics in geography
PÁTEK, Jaroslav
This bachelor thesis describes possibilities of using mathematics in the field of geography. The topic is reduced to the partial discipline of geography, which is cartography ? especially mathematic cartography. Its subject of study is making maps of the Earth. An accent is put on particular examples.

Thermophysical properties of ionic liquids and binary mixtures containing them – An overview
Součková, Monika ; Pátek, Jaroslav ; Klomfar, Jaroslav
The report provides a comprehensive review of literature sources of experimental data on the thermophysical properties of ionic liquids, a novel class of materials with a wide range of applications. The literature search was focused on pure ionic liquids as well as on the binary mixtures containing them. The following thermophysical properties have been included into the study: density, isobaric heat capacity, speed of sound, surface tension, vapor-liquid equilibrium pressures, solid-liquid phase transition temperatures, viscosity, electrical conductivity, refractive index, activity coefficients, and decomposition temperatures. The results of the search are presented in the form of synoptic tables. The reference list of bibliography contains 97 items.

Measurement and prediction of the transport properties of natural gases
Čapla, L. ; Buryan, P. ; Pátek, Jaroslav ; Klomfar, Jaroslav
Measurements of the thermal conductivity of two samples of natural gases performed with a transient hot-wire apparatus are reported. The prediction method for the thermal conductivity of gas mixtures suggested by Stiel and Thodos is tested against the obtained experimental data. The deviations of the experimental thermal conductivities form their calculated values lie within the band from ?2% to 2.5% in the temperature and pressure region relevant for natural gas transport.

Prediction of the transport properties of multicomponent dense gas mixtures
Pátek, Jaroslav ; Klomfar, Jaroslav
An implementation of the Thorne-Enskog equation for the evaluation of the thermal conductivity and viscosity of high-density fluid mixture is presented. The method is based upon the rigid-sphere model of the fluid mixture suitably interpreted to apply real fluids. The procedure requires the knowledge of the transport properties of the pure component gases at igh density, the zero-density values of the transport properties both for the pure components and for their binary mixtures.
